Post by: qc mech2 on 11 February 2011, 19:56:52

Whenever I get a new mech and I'm not sure what to do with the extra parts, I head over to camospecs.com and look at their examples.  I can usually figure out what I'm supposed to do from there.

If I recall correctly, this Enforcer has extra bits for you to decide which variant you want to make it.

Ah, that's right... it will either make a ENF-4R OR an ENF-5D

And that's the problem. The 2 Camospec's pics don't show much and for the extra bits, I can't tell what is what so....

Describe the extra bits. The only difference between the the 4R and the 5D is the AC10 vs LB10X and the LL becoming an ERLL.

The LB10X has a smaller diameter nozzle at the end so either there is a barrel extension for it or a reinforcing tube that slips over the barrel.

The LL is shorter and thicker than the ERLL so there should be a collar to go over the laser stub for the LL but I wouldn't be surprised if you have to install a collar over the ERLL as well.

Which version do you want to make?

The extra barrels are unnecessary.  I left mine off and it looks just fine.

Honestly, just take a guess and go with it. It's important for us to assemble things correctly, and when doing that mini for the 2009 diorama, I sat there with multiple TROs open and still couldn't be sure which barrels were right. This is an example of more pieces/more options being bad: it adds frustration for no real gain. Chances are no one will ever challenge your choice of barrels regardless of what variant you claim. Pick what you like the look of.

And after attempting to put those extra barrels and getting them to stick anywhere but on their places, I decided to forget it.  [tickedoff]

If you want to see the ENF-4R on Camospecs check out the Special Projects gallery.
