Quote
Malcolm Young, guitarist and co-founder of AC/DC, died Saturday at the age of 64. Young had been suffering with dementia for the past three years, an illness that forced his retirement from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band he founded with his brother Angus Young in 1973.

RIP Malcolm.

Decades in the music business, dozens of albums, a tour cycle of enormous size...

and they only play four songs on the radio-and all four of those songs are older than most of the fans.

I'm pretty sure I've heard more than four on the radio... which four are you thinking of?

'Highway to Hell', 'Back in Black', 'For Those About to Rock' and 'TNT' (or 'She Shook Me All Night Long') would be the Big Four (Five) locally with 'Thunderstruck' being the sixth.

How may other bands of that age have more songs that regularly get played on the radio, though?

Not many. Then again when I listen to the radio it's always the Classic Rock station. I totally hate modern rock music.

To those six, I can add at least "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" and "Big Balls" just off the top of my head.  And that's on our "modern" rock station.  The station also recently did a parody on the first ("Dirty Deeds Done With Sheep") that was pretty funny...

The thing that's really surprised me the most is the utter lack of coverage this has received by the media.  Rolling Stone is pretty much the only place I've seen it mentioned: other online sources that usually cover celebrity deaths have been strangely silent.

I felt CNN's article was pretty decent.
And I remember see it listed in their App's Top Stories on the day he passed.
