I see. Thanks for the explanation, makes sense.

But they still expand the Damage and Movement sections, just like Sideslip rules will.  Where in the book they are wasn't my point, it's fitting in all the sections in a cohesive manner.  Instead of looking up the section on the unit, you're now looking for that specific part of the Movement or Combat section.

I'm an Alpha Strike player, not BattleTech, so I'm used to how that rulebook is laid out which is the way I'm describing. Rules for individual unit types are included under the main categories like I've described so to me, that makes sense when reformatting the BattleTech rules. The BattleMech Manual has the same layout (Intro, Movement, Combat, Damage, Heat) so I would expect anything new that replaces or updates Total Warfare will follow the same format as these two rulebooks.

Ultimately it sounds like we are both on the "Total Warfare needs an update" side of the question.

I'll second the Tomahawk suggestion. It's got the speed to keep pace with newer fighters, and even the older models have guns that will breach the at armor of most fighters(and in many cases the wings as well). The high speed also makes it useful as a bomber, able to carry a full load and still maneuver appreciably. This is less useful among the Clans than elsewhere, but there are still plenty of situations where they have no compunctions about bombing something flat.

All of the above are also true for the Hammerhead, so it might be good to consider that as a big brother to the Tomahawk.

I mean, Clan Blood Spirit's red Cobra Commander ceremonial uniform is pretty baller, ngl.  But the Nova Cat leaned into the "leatherdaddy furry" side of things and it hit the other clans' insecurities a bit too hard.  It mightn't be a stretch to say that the Nova Cats are the Rob Halford to the Clans' metal scene.
I lived in Berlin for many years and would drink at a metal bar called the Rockcafe Halford, which (at the time), had an 8-foot tall paper mache statue of Rob Halford in leathers.

I will now repurpose the memory of that as a Nova Cat Elemental in ceremonial attire thanks to you.

His most recent mention was in a recent Shrapnel. He's in Seychelle's Stonehearts, though apparently he's been in a funk since there's been no word on Lakewood since her capture by the Wolves.

Wanted to say the Swift (cheap fighter for reconaissance, why bother build new ones or even waste a light Omni fighter?) and what do you know the Clan's even updated the Swift to a Swift C version. Perhaps the Trident as well I seem to remember that the Red Corsair bandits actually used Tridents in their raiding campaign.

The Icarus II ICR-1S is noted as surviving through the Succession Wars in militia units in TRO3075 p. 260.
Oddly, currently it appears the mech is entirely lacking Late Succession Wars and Clan Invasion availability in MUL, not even extinct.

did not exist in sufficient numbers to be assigned to anyone. units that have gaps in availability are part of this group - there are not many. the ICR-1S is one of the few, but probably the most prominent example.

Considering that there are still some Panther's and even at least two Tiger 1's in operational status is something of itself. Though I think we are diverting from the topic

-Would Mason Dunne come back?  He'll be in Trial of Brithright
lol, this guy be slacking off for some 20 years.

On serious note, i think Dunne was noted in some thing years ago but honestly weirdly for a character from first MWDA novel he never made any appearances afterwards. But better 20 years later than never maybe? Amusingly it is about as long in-universe.
