The Yautja are a group of individuals who are obsessed with hunting the most dangerous prey (often people) and have a budget that lets them do it with the highest technology available. They developed a light power armor suit with an active camouflage system, modular mounts for numerous anti-personnel weapons, a sensor suite, and various other gear clipped on. If you aren't in a mech, or battle armor of your own, these guys will give you a bad day.
Weapons were chosen for the AP mounts based on giving a variety of equipment that would simulate the gear of the predator. Battletech doesn't really have full copies of the weapons they use. You can of course use whatever AP weapons you desire on these mounts if you have a suit of your own.
