Death From Above (TW pg150):
FALLS
A successful death from above attack may cause both ’Mechs to fall. Both MechWarriors must make Piloting Skill Rolls, the target adding a +2 modifier and the attacker adding a +4 modifier. If either unit fails this roll, the unit takes damage as from a 0-level fall.
On an unsuccessful attack, the attacker automatically falls, taking damage as though the ’Mech had fallen 2 levels onto its back (see Falling, p. 68).
A target of a successful DFA attack being displaced off of an elevation greater than 0, should receive more than damage received from a 0-level fall.
If a unit standing on a precipice or building was successfully DFA'd, and fell, would the falling-damage received still only be equal to that of falling on level terrain?
EX: PXH-1 standing on a 1-hex, height-6 building is successfully hit by a DFA from an STG-3R. The Phoenix Hawk is displaced, and has a +2 PSR to avoid falling down or take damage as though it had fallen (*edit for accuracy) 0 levels. The Stinger pilot looks onward, triumphantly.
Additionally, assume that same target successfully made its PSR, would it NOT receive damage & PSR penalties per normal "Leaping" rules? (REF: Leaping, TO pg22: "The first roll receives a modifier equal to the number of levels in the leap multiplied by 2.... A ’Mech may suffer leg damage and falling damage if it fails both rolls." (ETC) - I suppose I can re-post this to the TO sub-forum as well, if necessary).
