Initially written by Marauder648 with a little change from me.  I planned on trying to redo it as a mixed timeline of events but couldn't make it work properly.  Instead we get some truth and some conjecture.

Star League Defence Force Intelligence Report – Coyote Occupation Zone troubles

01 July 3108

General James Topher,

Sorry to fire this off at such short notice but we’re updating this daily.  As you know there’s ‘something going on’ in Coyote space and we’re trying to get a view on just what the hell it is.  Our initial report was one saying that the Clan was being annihilated, for what crime we did not know, but instead we must re-appraise this.  This is not a Trial of Annihilation; the other Clans are striking at targets within the Coyote OZ but they are doing so (mostly) with the help of the Coyotes.

We’re seeing a lot of troop movement but it’s all towards Coyote space as well as large scale WarShip deployment across the board, including significant elements of the Nova Cat fleet who apparently moved through Raven and Bear territories with their permission.  The CGB Rasalhague and her escort group have also pulled back from the Kurita border and is possibly en-route to Coyote space.

The problem is lack of feet on the ground as well as a complete blackout with HPGs.  One of our teams used a Blackbox to send an initial report but their transmitting site was bombed and we’ve heard nothing more from them.  We have a pair of Peter-class Scout ships in the area but they have to be careful about their movements otherwise they will give away their identities.  We are struggling to get further teams into the Coyote OZ because Elementals belonging to the Ebon Guard and other units are boarding every JumpShip in the region with a threat of destruction if the JumpShip refuses to be boarded.

One team on the ground, on Weingarten, was able to report that when a Dominion Cluster deployed there was the usual zoo’s worth of Bear named Mechs as well as several units in variations of old Rasalhague unit markings armed for close assaults with claw and hatchet armed Mech’s on Satalice.  The Rogue Bear Hybrid was also seen at long last, but it seemed to serve with Watch units and this is one thing of note.  We’re seeing large numbers of the Watch from all Clans involved in this action, and they are operating outside their usual Intel role and instead are deploying in force with Mech’s vehicles and battle armour.  The Watch are operating almost like Special Forces units picking targets.

Some areas have been hit hard; it depends on the Clan launching the attack, with the Falcons naturally being less caring about collateral damage than the others.  One suggested attack took place on Maestu where a Falcon armour binary wiped out an entire settlement of 25,000 people.  It’s been suggested that Nova Cat Khan Canin Rosse commanded the Falcons to stand down following this operation but these actions are still being carried out and hostile elements within the Coyotes are being terminated without mercy. Nova Cat, Coyote and Rasalhague Dominion Elementals have been seen setting up stop and search details on several worlds.

We think this is a concerted effort against the Society, although our information is very limited on what this group actually is, it seems to mostly be lower Caste driven.  It could be a social movement within the Clans that is deemed intolerable, or possibly even a political movement.  My instinct is to try and extract a few of them but considering how the Clans are reacting towards them and anyone in their way between them and this Society, I don’t think we want to get in their crosshairs just yet.

There is an upside to this though, whilst the Clans are engaging in this action it is taking some pressure off the Lyrans as well as giving us some good Intel on unit and fleet deployments, mostly obtained through comms intercepts.  The Clans still have a lousy grasp of emcon and a lot of their comms between different Clan orbital assets are still sent en clair.

Since this started I’ve ordered an increase in observation on the Clan borders and this is our initial draft.

1.  Dominion forces are not mobilizing, but instead rotating forces from the interior and the joint border with the Combine.  Most elements involved in this deployment appear to be primarily of Clan origin whilst there is at least two Clusters worth of Rasalhague native forces.  The Watch is also heavily involved and we can assume that Mostand is too.

2.  The Falcon forces deployed are all front line troops with little in the way of Watch forces evident. They are seemingly treating this as a training exercise and are operating with little care for collateral damage and casualties.  It has been reported that the Coyotes have resisted against the Falcons and that Clan Nova Cat have “commanded” the Falcons to stand down.

3.  The Horses have pulled back one of their Horde Clusters as well as deploying large numbers of ProtoMech’s and Elementals alongside their Watch units.  They have also reportedly taken full control over several systems.

4.  Clan Nova Cat has deployed a considerable force to take part in this action, coordinating attacks and movement whilst also reinforcing orbital blockades.  They also have deployed a considerable Watch force including a rumoured Cluster equipped with Dezgra equipment. As we’ve no information on this we’re spitballing and saying it’s something with C3.  Khan Canin Rosse himself is reported to be leading this force this contradicts a previous report that the Khan was taking over Nova Cat operations on the Draconis Combine border.

5.  The Ebon Guard have deployed as well all be it in a command and control role, the CS Arbitration seems to be operating as a command vessel for this operation and is coordinating actions between the Clan forces involved – this report is contradicted by previous reports that Khan Canin Rosse of the Nova Cats has also been issuing orders.

6.  Coyote resistance seems to be non-existent and Coyote forces are reportedly helping the other Clan forces in the hunt for their kinsmen.  We have one report of a full Cluster resisting and being torn apart by Nova Cat forces as well as several skirmishes in space where Coyote forces were run down and destroyed whilst trying to flee.  Reports suggest that the Horses also obliterated a Coyote JumpShip coordinating with Clan Nova Cat’s forces in the Laurent system.

7.   We’ve no information regarding the small Coyote WarShip fleet and where it stands in this although reports place the CCS Canis Latrans over their capital Weingarten and reportedly under join command of several Clans.

8.  Clan Wolf and Sea Fox units have yet to be seen involved in operations in the Coyote Occupation Zone.  Reports suggesting a Mountain Wolf Cluster had crossed the Coyote border are unconfirmed by SLIC and by LCIC.

Most of our Intel is coming from third party sources, with the Clans limiting the amount of trade they have with the Inner Sphere our Intel mostly comes from a handful of Drop and JumpShip crews as well as comms intercepts.  The SLS Oste and Zobel are collecting first hand data but their operations are limited.  I would suggest looking at sending someone in a diplomatic role to talk with the Clans and try and gauge what’s going on, and to reassure them that we’re not planning anything and they should not have to worry about us.

nice report.  it does show a weakness.  they have to few scouts and recon ships.
