On the smaller scale, one focused narrowly on the FWL remnants and nearby periphery in 3085 would be pretty workable, I think.  Players taking on Oriente, Marik, Regulus, Tamarind, Andurien, or Canopus, Alphard, or Niops, (or even one of the independent worlds if they want to be brave) with the LC, CC, and RotS looking on the outskirts for the GMs to use as bogeymen.  That would be fun.

Dibs on the Marian Hegemony if that were to ever happen, by the way.

That would be a blast, actually. And I'd love to take Niops again (and even play it a bit more sane, since we have a bit more canon info than we did).

Another good FGC on a small scale would be Operation Klondike.  You have all 20 of the original clans split into 5 worlds.  There would be relatively little book keeping there and the tech level would be manageable as well.

Good point. Tech levels are low, too, compared to the later game, and force sizes are easily manageable.  You even have the non-Clan Exile forces available, too, whether for oddballs or GMs.

Only downside is, you'd all end up in awe of the glory that is Clan Mongoose, one true Clan and true heir to Kerensky's vision.  Kneel before Mongoose.

I will say, I did enjoy being a Jaguar for a few months, because they'd say that sort of thing with a perfectly straight face.

For my part, I think Klondike would be both manageable (even if you want to track down to the individual warrior level, 40 is fewer warriors than I once managed mech regiments in the FWL) but also a strain on the player base, since you'd want 20 players in an ideal world for the Clans (you could do 16 or 12, if you just did a few of the worlds off screen) plus five or ten or more players for the Pentagon defenders.  If there were enough lined up, I'd be in, sure, but it would be rough to be working with another Clan on some complicated maneuver, only for that player to have something come up in their life (fair play, life is important) and leave Clan Awesome in a lurch.

If we're really going to get serious about this perhaps a thread more dedicated to the idea of relaunching a Fan Council elsewhere would better serve that end?

Will it be cool if a Fan Council could start making Faction or Group TRO. Like putting all the Mechs, vehicles, aircraft, areospace Roster in a TRO for example the Mercenary group Wolf in one book. Take the roster before misery an create a TRO, and create another one after misery.

something in that direction. That will helpful for peoples playing faction or just for reading.

Not sure how many custom designs are left for filling out additional fan TROs as mostly published designs were used.

As far as reading up on factions there are plenty of published materials out there that cover them for multiple eras and many were used as the basis of the Fan Councils which then grew from there.

So I'm not sure what is really being asked for that doesn't already exist.

I don't think I still have any of the sheets I modified or any of the rules.  Not sure how many incarnations rules and sheets still exist.  Each one had their own.

If people are serious about starting up a new Fan Council it'd probably be best to just start from scratch.

I still have the Excel sheets from, I think, the 3010?  3015?  FGC game on my old laptop.  I can drag that up if needed.

Still have some old sheets from the 3067 IIRC. Have to check the mail account.

I still have most of my FGC'62 monthly spreadsheets through Turn 37 for Niops, and somewhere I have Chanman's FGC'10 rules, with the infamous random events table and unique GM punishments.

The question arises though if we start small, like operation Klondike, how much do we need to do monthly spreadsheets following the logistics?

It would probably become necessary to start from scratch given the small scale we are looking at.  After all, there are only what, 40 Bloodnamed warriors in each clan at this time?

Well, I have the combat rules for FGC 3063, and all the rules of FGC 3010. Spreadsheet examples from both as well. I can probably set up some sort of dropbox for anyone who wants them.
