C-bill cost of a Titan Dropship?
« on: 18 May 2017, 13:29:43 »
Can anyone tell me what the C-bill cost of a Titan Dropship is? The clan one from TRO 3057, preferably.

A Clan upgrade of a DropShip that's been out of production for centuries?

C-Bill cost is whatever the seller demands.

If it isn't listed anywhere, please just say so directly.

I don't know if it is or isn't.

However, if C-Bill pricing is your concern, I presume it's not for force balancing purposes.  I also presume that since you're asking about C-Bills, you're asking about an Inner Sphere context, where Clan equipment is going to be more valuable in the earlier eras than in the later where everyone and his kid sister can either make it themselves, or buy it from their neighborhood Sea Fox representative.

No, actually I just want to compare the c-bill cost of custom designs as calculated by the book, to the c-bill costs of comparative cannon designs. I'm not interested in the availability modifiers at all, since those change by era, and I can make custom designs set in any era I want.

If it isn't listed anywhere, then eventually I'll go figure it out by hand. If I can avoid that I'd like to.

Fortunately I don't have to do that with BV. I hate calculating DropShip BVs.

Yeah i hadn't even thought about using it for that before, but as soon as I saw his source, I made a mental note to check there from now on.

The large craft prices in MM are not 100% accurate right now.

Dropships are pretty close but Jumpships and Warships are way off.

I've got my own calculator built for jumpships and warships, but thanks for the heads up.

Since they don't have a current designer, I suspect Jumpships and Warship costs are based on on old equations, whereas the dropship cost calculations remain pretty much the same from aerotech 2.

Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

They are, but I put a PR up with updated pricing calculations for the MM devs to review so hopefully sometime soon the prices will be accurate in MekHQ/MM though still no way to create them in MML. This was just changed to how MM calculates the prices.

As for AT2/TM the cost for dropships dropped a listed 1000 c-bill item as well as adding the cost for munitions (and fuel?).

Though equipment should seriously be outside the cost multiplier... can't add a small NCSS without making the price balloon horribly.
