The Icarus II was brought back to life, but yet it felt, odd. The designers went back to the drawing board, and decided to use a heavier weapons package. This meant swapping out the Imperator-B for a gauss rifle, and using 3 ER lasers, 2 Medium, 1 small, in a similar configuration to the original design.
The chassis had to be upgraded to endo steel, and an XL engine also utilised.
The movement profile was also upgraded to max out at just over 80Kph, and jump up to 150 metres.
Initial field tests have shown it to work great in conjunction with the -2S model. One variant that has seen field trial is swapping the gauss rifle out for a light gauss rifle and 1 ton of ammo. This gives room for a targeting computer to be added, greatly increasing the mech's accuracy at the expense of fire power. A field refit manages to shave off half a ton of armour and drop the er small laser for a C3 slave computer allowing the mech to become a brilliant sniper.
