Heh, I turned on the radio before going to bed monday. Just in time to hear the last minutes of Sweden - Italy. Should have heard the commentator when Sweden won (and qualified). Good thing I had the volume turned low. ^-^

So, our draw will either take us up against Germany or Russia first up by the sounds of it.

Well, there won't be two antipodean teams in Russia as Peru eliminated the Kiwis. Well, two weeks until group draws.

Well the Draw was today and I can i am non-plussed by the out come. There's no Group of Death IMO, though Group D comes the closest with iceland or Nigeria having to go home as Argentina skates thru. Most intriguing matches in the Group Stage for me will be Spain-Portugal, Argentina-Iceland, Germany-Mexico and any game involving Senegal or Egypt. Group A has to be the worst group out of the eight as I don't know how good Russia is, though Egypt has one of the better individual layers out there. IMO as many as three African teams could make the round of 16

Australia's group could have been better but could have been worst.

Certainly it is better than the group of death that we got at 2014 Brazil (Netherlands, Chile and Spain) but last time we faced France we got smashed 6-0. This time we have a slightly better than snowflake's chance of finishing 2nd in the group to progress. Part of that will be to play pragmatically against France with the aim of limiting the goal difference damage and trying to pinch a draw or an unlikely win on the counter, then play to win against Peru and Denmark.

Well England have a decent group that we should be able to get out of as a minimum, now i've said that we'll mess up against Panama and Tunisia, leaving us needing a result against Belgium.
