This idea more or less came about when I started reading about torso mounted cockpits and realized "Hey, the head doesn't transfer damage! Its almost like free CASE!"
This was the result of that. A typical example of an Urban combat mech, sporting the classic AC20 and dual medium lasers of long use, this Hunchback sports a torso-mounted cockpit and uses the free space in the head to hold the four tons of ammo the use of Endo-Steel grants. It also sports ECM to hide it. The machine doesn't make use of a Jumpjets as this is a prototype and the use of the Torso-Mounted cockpit also means that Norse-Storm technologies made the highly unpopular decision to not fit the mech with an ejection system. Instead the mech has a very well designed cockpit fitted to the lower torso, which helps even out the harder piloting.

Ordered by Isoroku Kurita, who had been a long-time admirer of the Hunchback, the 5IK model was a take on the Torso-Cockpit model produced on Solaris. Instead of the heavy autocannon of previous Hunchback's this model instead mounted a fearsome 40-tube medium range missile launcher, while maintaining the ECM system to hide it in Urban combat. With an outright silly four tons of ammo the mech can fire its barrages of missiles all day long before it needs to retreat & reload. The mech also sported thirteen regular heatsinks which are frankly not enough to cope with the heat output of the MRM launcher.
As a note, while the mech was supported by Isoroku, he did not pilot it himself, his already lackluster piloting ability further hampered by the tight cockpit in the torso. (The guy in game terms apparently was 3/6, or a good shot but clumsy at times.)
