So is it a daily league or weekly league and when would a draft of any kind happen?

Head-to-head matches are weekly; you can change your rosters daily, if you wish.

We do an autodraft and typically set it to run a few days before the start of the official season. Our returning teams set their Keepers beforehand - a minimum of 4, maximum of 8 (usually; hasn't been set in stone for this season yet). Team rosters are usually around 22 players.

All teams draft the first round, with expansion teams at the front of the line (order determined randomly) and then sorted by last year's standings, worst>first. Rounds 2-9 are backfilled with Keepers; teams with open slots draft from the FA pool.

I believe there are 11 categories of stats that are used to determine the weekly scores. Lead in a category, get a win at the end of the week. Category wins are 2 pts, ties are 1 pt. Playoffs are the top 'x' teams as determined by overall points (and Division winners).

I want to congratulate Team USA on doubling their goal output with last night's game against the Czech Republic, scoring TWICE in the loss. Way to go guys!  O:-)

Sure, I'd be interested if you haven't already filled up.  You can send it to the same email from the Cup challenge.  My apologies for not responding earlier.  Work has kept me busy.

Fortunately, I have to boot a team for inactivity so I can add you in. Watch for an invite.

Real action gets underway in a few days...

Seriously, I hope the Habs go 0-10 to start the season and Michel Therrien is run out of town under threat of death if he ever dares set foot on the island of Montreal again.

cheers,

Cindy got concussed in practice on Friday. Pens fans are probably starting to fret at the thought of another long period without him.

Sure, because we certainly don't have any other forwards who can generate offense...  ::)

Luckily Patrick Kane doesn't have any past issues that could be brought up....

Tonight begins the 100th season of NHL hockey, the long slog that will take 30 teams 82 games each to complete, eliminating 14 of them in early April to commence the playoffs, and culminating in mid-June with one team raising the greatest trophy in sports above their heads in triumph.

Let's do this thing.

I fully expect the Avalanche to miss the  playoffs once again choking in the last 6-8 games as they finish a good 4-8 points out of 8th place.

Carey Price won't start the season opener for the Habs as he seems to be down with the flu.  As we learned last year, that's all it takes to tank this team.

cheers,

Gabe

The bad ju-ju hit the division on the whole. Patrice Bergeron is missing Boston's first game at Columbus due to a lower body problem, and Jack Eichel apparently really screwed up his ankle in practice for the Sabres.

That second goal is ridiculous.

Hot take: This Matthews kid might just make it in the NHL after all.  ;D

And when the Leafs don't win, will they blame him like they did Kessel?

Matthews did admit the loss was on him, which I give him credit for admitting btw. He let his man get away from in OT and that guy put the biscuit in the basket.

Dilemma a week ago: Pick a goalie to keep, Jonathan Quick or Martin Jones? I decided to take a gamble on Jones and let Quick go, a tough decision.

Based on the news this morning, it looks like no matter how well Jones plays, I made the right call. Quick expected to miss a significant amount of time based on reports, we'll know more today.

Most teams haven't played a game yet, and the injury reports around the league are sobering.

True now, but the score was reversed when I went to bed.  It is a short week but in head to head that is all that matters.
