Found a weird technical dispute: Tukayyid
« on: 07 May 2017, 20:11:38 »
While the campaign is an awesome read and super easy to play, it is technically heavily out of date.

Some of the mechs shown in the book are just underweight, Black Knight and Wyvern. I blame the old Tech Manual for halving and using the .25 or .75 tonnage values.

Also not mentioned is the Royal variants.

BUT I do have a possible solution: Instead of reprinting corrected material, which is expensive and not cost effective. Why not just make sure an errata is made as a free downloadable PDF? But that question is best in Ask the Writer format.

And I don't feel like asking right away since that would most likely get " We'll look into that around 2020 or so... " effect. So carry on...

NOW: The real reason I made this down here:

For those that like to play accurately, I give you TT's version.

Keep the book the same... except when assigning your units.

Under 2750/3050 Mechs:
Royals are assigned as:
  Unit: Light - 30 , Medium - 42. Heavy - 60, Assault - 85
  Level II: Light - 180, Medium - 252, Heavy - 360, Assault - 510
  Level III:  Light - 1080, Medium - 1512, Heavy - 2160, Assault - 3060

Under 2750/3055 Vehicles:
Royals are assigned as
  Unit: Light - 20, Medium - 30, Heavy - 40, Assault - 50
  Level II: Light - 120, Medium - 180, Heavy - 240, Assault - 320
  Level III: Light - 720, Medium - 1080, Heavy - 1440, Assault - 1920

Under Infantry Detachments:
Royal Infantry is really Mauser Equipped, which means Level I ( 36-trooper ) 10, Level II ( 216 Troopers ) 60, Level III ( 1,296 Troopers ) 360

Meaning the Level II should be times 6 but we now know that you add one extra light and heavy unit to round out this. Also Level III's are combined arms.

( I'd run with the 30x Mauser 960 and 6x SRM, Light support. > 5.22 each Squad of 6, 31.32 for full Platoon, Range 2. The standard Infantry : 8 would be like the Auto-Rifle and SRM, Light support, 3.35 and 20.1 @ Range 2. All assumes non-Inferno, which is strange as the original combines a Compact GL... but 4.99 and 29.94 w/ Inferno. )

But the thing I want to propose is would any of you work with this system? I'd add:

5, Gabriel
7, Gabriel- Royal
10, Wheeled, Tracked, Hover APC, Ripper
13, Wheeled, Tracked, Hover- APC ( LRM -SRM -MG ), Ripper- Royal
14, for the Hover- APC ( Sensor )
