So we have a nice example of Deadpool recently.

What other Trope/Pun mechs can we think of?

Pink Panther
Various Transformers (Help me list 'em)
Urbie R2-D2
Urbie Trashcan
Wyvern C3PO

Cobra Psylon

Black Knight... Black Knight?

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

I've done a Morrigan as Morrigan from Dark Stalkers, everyone loves Grand Titan Prime.  One of my earliest attempts is a Naga as Mousse from Ranma.  I have a Vulpes as Dolores from Zone of Enders too.

I've always envisioned Capt America as a Excalibur, just modify the housing of the Gauss to look more like his trademark shield.  The Banshee always reminds me of the Hulk as well.  For me,  the Black Knight is an older type Iron Man suit.

Spiders also make excellent Knight Sabers with some work. Just look at the thighs.

To be fair with Deadpool, you could also do Slade/Deathstroke and possible Jinx from GIJoe from the No-Dachi.

(I've been in this hobby for too long  :D)

Puns that I could think of (even though I didn't paint them as these yet)...
Icarus - Pit (Get it?  The main character from Kid Icarus   ;D)
Snake - Solid Snake
Stone Rhino/Behemoth (un or re, doesn't matter) - For the clanners, either Rocksteady (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, duh) or Rhyperior (a Gen 4 Pokémon, an evolved form of Rhydon, yeah yeah, I went overboard with it) and for the Inner Sphere, Metal Gear Rex
Gargoyle/Man O War - Goliath from Gargoyles
Kodiak (II) - various fictional bears such as Care Bears, Winnie the Pooh, Baloo, somehow if I work on my Kodiak II mini, I would painted up as the Gen' 5 Pokémon Beartic)
Hitman - Dovahkiin (Dragon Born)
Dragon - Alduin, Smaug, or Charizard

I'll have to find the pic, but I did the Justice League of New Avalon once:

* Grand Titan as Optimus Prime
* Unseen Goshawk as Gundam
* Tempest as Captain America
* Grand Crusader as The Flash (because!)

And then there's the Minion Imp, inspired by WolfReaper or IAMCLANWOLF - sorry, can't recall, but one of them did it first.

Didn't someone do a dark age King Crab as Mayor McCheese? I seem to recall laughing at that quite a bit. Plus the seemingly endless parade of My Little Pony themed quads.

There's not many famous distinctive colored horses one can emulate on the Balius unfortunately.  I got lucky with Fuunsaiki.

Not sure if you wanted pictures, but I did this SkyWarp (Transformers - Decepticon) that was built from a heavily modified Phoenix Hawk LAM.

Executioner / Gladiator OmniMech i'm not mistaken.

I remember now. It was a Helios. I think "theplasticone" painted it, maybe even a whole Kool-Aid lance.

That's very nice. The new PHX work nicely as the Decepticon planes.  Skywarp really is a Phoenix Hawk (if over sized)

Any more puns with the names? Obviously you could paint mechs like the pagan gods they are named after
Thor (Summoner) like Thor.
Hercules, like Hercules.
Zeus like Zeus.
Apollo (or like a Battlestar Galactica Colonial Warrior)

Cobra (with some mods) Like a Battlestar Galactica Centurion

Wasp LAM works as an Autobot.  The Jetfire toy was actually a VF-1S.
