It's based on the Taiidan Interceptor from the 1999 strategy game Homeworld. I was recently able to get a model 3d printed around the same scale as the Battletech miniatures from shapeways, so I tried to make a design to go with the model.

That link has it weighing in at 60 tons. What made you choose to set this one at 80?

I am always wary of putting too much into two big guns, but I wouldn't want to be the opposing fighter pilot who had to deal with those heavily armored HAG-30s.

When I tried to build the design around 60 tons, the result wasn't very impressive. Movement 6/9, poor armor for the tonnage and lack luster damage potential (two Hag/20s). Also, the physical model looks more like it weighs around 80 tons as opposed to 60.

I like it, she's very Clan in the all or nothing approach to firepower without going "Hey you know what this thing needs? More ER large lasers and ER PPCs." And then replicating a star ignighting when the damn thing fires.
