Marian Hegemony Hornet Refit
« on: 19 July 2017, 06:47:05 »
This design was inspired by WorkTroll's Marian Cohort in the Minis forum. The Hornet was one of two mechs that didn't have Rocket Launchers, and that struck me as wrong. So here's one possible refit. I was going to use Ferro-Fibrous too, but that really didn't improve protection at all. Then I thought about changing to use fewer tons of FF, but that only freed half a ton.  :-\ So I'm going to leave the armor as is.

Wow, that's really, really neat. About the only thing I would consider changing would be to swap an RL-15 to a pair of RL-10s.

O0 This works as the RL-10s give a bit more reach in a surprise attack.

I thought about that, but the other members of the century had RL-15s and RL-20s, so I assumed that those were what the techs had on hand. IMHO they'd be more likely to use the on-hand supplies rather than get another weapon system they had to maintain. Of course if this Hornet was  a depot level refit, you can put on whatever RLs you like. :)
