Editable Character Sheet
« on: 10 November 2011, 09:57:19 »
Hello, I am going to be running a game of A Time of War over the interwebs using maptools. And I was looking for a character sheet that I and the players could use which they wouldn't have to print out first. And so I was wondering if you people had anything of the sort already made. Thank you.

I would be interested in an editable character sheet as well.  I'm currently working on a spreadsheet that I can use for my campaigns but I need something for a the FRAG Con in April ( http://www.reginagamers.com/index.php/convention ) and my spreadsheet won't be done in time.

I hate to be vain, but if you don't hate GoogleDocs, this is probably the best thing I can find! The thread post will be here: http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php/topic,17504.0.html

Taron Storm's Character Sheet has worked great for what I need.  I've made some modifications and I will make them available if Taron Storm doesn't mind.

Not terribly surprising there are so many spreadsheets haunting about for AToW.  I have one, Daryk has one, and Kobura now has one.

Taron's sheet prints out to look like the official Character Sheet.  It was in excel format so I just added on the character creation calculations to make it easy for me to mass produce a bunch of PCs for the campaign.

That is something my sheet will never be, is print-friendly, but it's meant to 100% supplant or supplement the character sheet, since one of my players is a thousand miles from me, if we don't have internet access we can't play anyway.

@tbrminsanity:  Go ahead.  Please send me a copy.  Like I said, the original sheet was someone else's that I modified for my games.

Sounds great.  I will make the character sheet available on my website.  The link will be up shortly.

It probably could be reworked to where MS Office would like it.  I know my sheet had initial difficulties in that regard but I did manage to get those straightened out a revision or two ago.

Thx, D69

I first read this as "edible" (little tired this morning) and wondered "why would someone want to eat their character sheet?!?"

I will look into saving it into xls format.

This is turning out to be more of a pain then anticipated.  My computer has been having "issues" and as such it will be quite some time till I have the xls version uploaded.  In the mean time I recommend using either IBM Lotus Symphony, OpenOffice, or LibreOffice to open the file.  I used IBM Lotus Symphony to create the file so it will probably look best in that program.  If you need a link to any of these programs please PM me.

Like I said before, I would recommend opening the file in IBM Lotus Symphony as it was the program I used to create both files.  I have downloaded the file again and opened it in Polaris Office ( Android ) and I was able to edit the file there as well.  I would try saving the file to a Downloads folder, and then opening it from there.  You may be trying to edit the file from a temp folder and that can cause problems.  Let me know if you have any other issues.

I've changed my website from boxall.no-ip.org to www.thomasboxall.com.  It should work now.

I read the subject line as Edible Character Sheet!  I didn't want to know, but couldn't keep from clicking on the link.  Makes more sense now.  I think I better go have a morning snack break.....
