You could always suggest it when they start the next round of Fan Financing.

Just saying, I will 100% through some cash at funding a Bakeneko.

I'll happily throw money at this too.

I would be happy to help with the fundication.

When fan funding reopens we should have enough nominations to get it on the poll. What's the ETA on the next round?

Last I've seen from postings on the forums, Primitive Griffin master has been delivered to IWM, Orthos for the Flashman have been posted and I assume B3 is currently sculpting it. The funding thread for the Black Knight "Red Reaper" (the last sculpt in this round) has yet to be opened. Speck has been busy with vacation last week and Historicon in Fredericksburg, VA this weekend. So depending on how the last 2 sculpts and the rest of convention season goes, my uneducated guess is maybe a month or two before we see any official mention of the round 2 suggestion thread.

Poll is open for those who missed it. Only the top two make the cut and the Bakeneko is currently behind. Let's change that.

Congrats to those of you that wanted this made, and that voted for it!   O0  While I won't help fund it, I Might buy one or two once it gets produced.

I clicked the link from the 1st page, to see what this thing looked like, and I've got a question.  Is the MUL ONLY about Alpha Strike now?   ???  Granted, I clicked on "Stop" before the page was fully loaded (slow dialup means I do that often with pages), but I only saw an AS "Card" for it, the picture of it, some sort of "Skills" chart (which I don't understand AT ALL, except that I guess it has "Something" to do with BV), the "Source" for it (and a Link to a Summary of the same), and some Very Basic information about it.  Things such as Weight, Role (Skirmisher - an AS term, NOT a BT term), Rules Level, Era, Technology, and Date Introduced.  I Thought the MUL was for Battletech, though I admit that with my slow connection I've hardly ever checked it out, because I don't have that kind of patience.   :-\  I've only played AS once, and with no local group I haven't looked over my rule books (AS and AS Companion, each in print and PDF formats) to really get into how to play it.  I know the MUL has been around for Several years now, and I'm Pretty Sure it has only recently had the AS information added to it.  Well, you CAN'T add rules for something when those rules don't even exist yet, right?   :D

I'm also wondering, Did the MUL list the BT stats before AS was released?   ???  Sort of like the TRO entries, rather than a Record Sheet I mean.  If so, Why delete that info and replace it with the AS info, rather than simply Adding the AS stats?   ???  If I'm asking in the wrong place, Please have a Moderator move my question to wherever the Correct place might be.

Again though, Congrats to those of you pushing for "your baby" to be born!   ;D   O0   [applause]  [applause]

As far back as I can remember the UL has never had BT stats listed.  The resources to do so would make the MUL far to massive to do so for every design out there, especially when other resourced out there already do so efficiently.  With regard to your other items:

1)  The AS cards are there for open availability for use.  Without that resource I don't know that one is going to be able to throw a game of AS together fairly quickly without having to do conversions from BT to AS for every unit you would use.

2)  The skills chart is a way to calculate the various combinations of pilot and gunnery BV without having to do it all by hand.

3)  The misc. items that you otherwise listed are undoubtedly there to make people's lives easier when searching out basic criteria for units based on age, tech base, etc.

Ahhh.  Thanks!   O0  Again, my my pokey dialup I've never spent much time at the MUL site, and the first few times I tried I couldn't even get it to open.   :(  As such, I'm EXTREMELY unfamiliar with it.   :-[

I don't guess I realized that Gunnery and Piloting skills got as lousy as 7, much less 8!    :o   I thought 5 was "Green" MW skills, so what is 8, someone that has never even driven a car?  Does anyone Intentionally play with skills of 6 or less?  Even in an Atlas, a MW with 8/8 will be mopped up easily by someone in a Locust with 5/5!   #P

Thanks again for the info anyway!   O0

I seem to recall there being more for most units. At least a TRO ref for the record sheets, though this may simply not have been added yet for the bakeneko, I'm not sure the MUL contains all units post jihad...

The only data that I am aware is missing is the new Turning Point. The MUL only shows a source image once. In the case of the bakeneko, they are both the same. If you know of something missing, please let us know in the errata thread.

And Skirmisher was a BattleTech term long before Alpha Strike ever existed.  See Last decade plus of Intro Box Sets (back to the cardboard grasshopper box) and 4th SW Battlepack.  Alpha Strike adopted them for the same reason those products introduced them, as a way to introduce new players to the huge number of mechs and variants out there.
