Phoenix Hawk in Dazzle Camouflage
« on: 20 January 2018, 18:32:44 »
Evening all.

I have recently been playing a AToW campaign and my friend Sylv (who is new to the universe) was piloting a P-Hawk.  When a friend got her a mini for Christmas and I offered to paint it for her, she asked for world war one style dazzle camo.

 :'(

Well, I did promise...

I'll try to get some more pictures done in better lighting before I give it back to her tomorrow.

Nice. (And definitely breaks up the outline, too!)
"That's Lieutenant Faceplant to you, Corporal!"

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

"Hmm, I wonder if I can turn this into a MM map."

Nifty!

Now that I think about it, WWI aircraft have a lot of bright, garish schemes that would work well on 'mechs.

Come to think of it, Dazzle camo makes more sense for battlemechs than regular camo.   You wouldn't fool another mech's sensors, but you'd probably confuse infantry and scouts.

Your take on it looks great.  O0

A couple more pictures I took in somewhat better light.

As you can see I have added her character's call sign to the base.
