Just watched Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man Tell No Tales.
Good movie, fun and entertaining.  I have say i was bad and didn't see the fourth movie, so i wasn't sure what had happen that effected things.

It was worth entry, it may not have been fresh and new concept as the original, but was wasn't too bad to be able to follow the story.

CGI certainly improved, with flashback to Johnny Depp being amazingly realistic teenager only ruined with his adult voice jabbering instead of maybe clips of his younger voice.

There word of another one, but this movie had good enough stop point that won't be missed.

Old Batman.  Yvonne Craig and Eartha Kitt in the same episode.  This is one of those things we can thank NASA for.  The technology to cram that much beautiful into 30 minutes and still have room for ham.

I travel a lot back and forth to China so what I get to see is what they have available on the plane which is a lot.

Recently I've seen:

Rogue One
Doctor Strange
Sing
No Country For Old Men
Jack Reacher
Jack Reacher 2
Trolls

...  just to name a few

Of all things, the Lego Batman Movie... and DAMN if I din't enjoy it from start to finish!  :D

the opening monologue is the most awesome ever in the history of opening monologues: "...black. All good movies start with black. And music... edgy, tense music, the kind that would make parents and studio executives nervous. And logos, really long, dramatic logos. Warner Bros? Why not Warner Bro-thers?! DC... the house that BATMAN built. Yeah what Superman? Come at me bro. I'M YOUR KRYPTONITE!"

My SO and I went to see this in the theatre. She LOVED it, which was a rare and happy circumstance for me, she generally doesn't have the attention span for movies.

The Lego Batman movie was great. Very funny with a bunch of scartastic jokes in there. I loved the 60s throwback in the movie also. I almost want to say that the Lego Batman was one of the better versions of Batman.

Logan Noir.  Came with the Logan Blu-ray.  It isn't noir by any definition (the film is screamingly Romantic in all the best ways,) but it works well, connecting more to the old western feel.  I enjoyed it a lot.

Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

Highly entertaining as always, but Ghost Protocol edges it out just a tad as my favourite. Rogue Nation would have done well as a Bond. I hope they keep Rebecca Ferguson for the next movie, I'm a sucker for pale brunettes with a cut-glass English accent... I blame Beckinsale  :D

I just watched that one late last night.  It was an enjoyable movie, but I liked the samurai better.  The action nature of this one just didn't allow the same level of attachment to the samurai characters.

I agree.  The acting in GP was also better IMO for all involved.

Don't worry it wasn't. The original, based on 'The Seven samurai', was much better and closer to the film it was based on.

Kurosawa's Samurai, lets face it, is dated, and 1960 Seven as well. So while I ain't saying its a perfect Western*, the new Seven is a sufficiently entertaining modernised take on the 1960 Seven.

Fantastic choice.  Episode 3 is hilarious, and a bit disturbed.  My favorite is episode 6.

I watch Spaced every few years, it's a great time capsule from the late 90s.  It never fails to entertain.

Speaking of Wright,  I saw Baby Driver. It's pretty good,  but not his best work.

i enjoyed kilmers more...at least they tried make it less campy and had a story to it this new one felt rushed too many action scenes where they were not even needed to progress the story...think of bey with very cheap budget and slice that budget by 3/4

"War Machine." Definitely not what I expected based on the trailer - not necessarily a bad thing, but not what I had prepped myself mentally to watch. It was a bit of a tough slog, since I'd gotten off on the wrong foot with it, and it wasn't until the end that what the movie's message/purpose was really about. That's all I will say, lest it swerve into Rule 4 territory.
