Ral Partha Lance Pack 'Mechs
« on: 08 February 2011, 19:41:56 »
I own a medium lance and a recon lance made by Ral Partha eons ago.
I'm having no luck finding any pics of the box cover art of the other classic lance packs (heavy, assault etc.) as I would like to create those lances with my collection of unseen minis.  Or, can someone simply list what those lances cosisted of?

Thanks- m72

Oh man. I would love to get my hands on one of those scout packs (TWO Locusts!!) and one of those Fire Lance packs and one of those Assault packs. If only eBay and I could come up with some kind barter program.

I wonder how much the packs varied between runs. I just remember my Medium pack coming with a Wasp instead of a Stinger.

I would love one of the heavy ones.  Two Archers a Rifleman and a Phoenix Hawk.  So sweet.

That's the Fire Lance. Heavy comes with different stuff.
Here are the backs of mine that I had posted awhile back. I also have a couple of the omni boxes if anyone is interested.

Proper time machines are a modified Delorean or a Blue Police Box.

yeah, almost got out my 80s hair band CDs, and flipped through my oldest MW books.  I do really like the size and scaling of the old RP.  I wish i would have bought more minis back in the day.  But other expenses were always getting in the way.

I was fortunate enough to acquire a bunch of the originals through trades recently.  nothing special design wise, but the quality and scale of the figures are superb.  im tempted to paint them all from "the golden century"

So is it bad to say that I still have a couple of these shrink wrapped?  NO THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE.  That should take care of that little problem...

I got back into B-tech about two years ago and dusted off the mini's for a good old broo-ha-ha.  Does it make me old when I pull out a Warhammer, Archer and a pair of Shadow Hawks and people go what are those?

Seeing this, I once again am kicking myself for giving away (not even selling, but GIVING) my entire mech collection 20 years ago...

(I think I had everything but the Pursuit and Command lances... and had multiples of the Assault lance)
There is no problem that can't be solved by C-4.

Ah, but did you have them in resin as well as lead/pewter?  I don't know if they made all the sets in resin, but I have the Assault Lance, 2x Fire Lance, Heavy Lance, and all four of the Clan Omni-Mech boxes in resin (though the Clan 'Mechs had metal parts as well - usually the arms & weapons).  They were made by Ral Partha and were really high quality.

Just the motivation I need to finish a project I started a few years ago...

I've posted the front and a partial back covers (just the painted lance part) pictures of all eight of the original lance packs, along with what 'Mechs were included over at Lords of the Battlefield.

To make it easy, click here for the link.

Hope this helps,

Caz

In addition to having the all the lances in lead/raladium, I also have the Fire Lance and Heavy Lance in blue resin.  Does anyone know if they made all the sets in this resin (I do have all 4 clan mech box sets in this resin, though some clan mechs had some metal parts as well.)

Thanks!

I had nearly forgotten about this thread, Caz.
Thanks for the link and thanks for the list of parts packs over at LotB.
