Energy weapons (e.g., lasers) and modern melee weapons (e.g., vibro-swords) use PPS; we get PPS from power packs. Do these weapons need to be connected to a powerpack via a cable, or do they hold a certain amount of PPS before needing to be "reloaded"?

Further, let's say that one has a laser that does 1PPS (i.e., 1 turn = 1 shot), but this person uses his two simple actions to make two ranged attacks - both with his laser- in his one turn. Did this person use up 2 power points or 1 power point?

As for how power packs are connected it largely depends on how big the power pack is.  Some are small enough you can put them directly in the item.  Some are big enough that you do need to wear them like a backpack and attach a cable.

Think of them like pretty much any modern battery operated device.  So yes they need power packs to even work and once the power packs are drained you need to "reload".

And yes that would be 2 power points used up.  It is literally right in the name "power per shot".

Hope that helps.

If you think of power packs as a combination of clips for modern guns, batteries, caps you aren't really wrong.
As far as the device using the packs is concerned, they often have enough connections to make 10-20 shots before you have to "reload" depending on the power packs used and the size of the device.
