NAC 20s or 30s
« on: 31 July 2017, 10:41:11 »
So working on a AU SL upgrade and wanted a opinion on what is better 3 NAC 20s or 2 NAC 30s. My recollection is better bracketing on the 20s and same damage per bay for only 500 tons more. Opinions please.

It depends on how many weapons you're mounting per arc.  If you have the slots to spare, yes, the better bracketing is worth the slight increase in tonnage.  Having to pay extra tonnage for fire control kills the advantage.

In a vacuum the extra 500 tons add up to enough extra NAC 30s to overcome the accuracy boost od bracketing.

In the real world of ECM, chaff, and evasion it is nice to hit something occasionally.
