The following is based on the 2012 Corrected Second Printing, print edition.
There are a few problems with Availability codes in Conventional Infantry Armor Table (Cont.) on p. 318.
Capellan Confederation, Marian Hegemony and Taurian Concordat/Calderon armors have Availability codes B-B-B, but their introduction dates are 3050, 3049 and 3047 respectively, which suggests, that the Availability in the Age of War through Star League eras (the first letter of the code) should be X, and the Availability during Succession War era (the second letter of the code), most likely also should be X (or at least something rarer than B).
Lyran Alliance (3060+) armor was introduced in 3060, but has an Availability code X-D-B, I would expect X, not D in the second place of the code.
I suspect, that the root of the problem is one of three things:
- the introduction dates are wrong (seems unlikely, especially in case of the Lyran armor),
- the Availability codes are wrong,
- the Availability codes are supposed to represent the Availability not of the particular suits of armor themselves, but the Availability of technology required to make those suits, although in this case it still seems strange, that the Marian Hegemony armor with it's Damage Divisor 2 has Availability B-B-B. If technology required to produce such tough, non-encumbering armor was so common in all eras, why everyone else except the Clans, and some Marines with extremely expensive suits (see Clan (All) entry on p. 318 and Environment Suits, Marine on p. 317) seems to use armors that provide Armor Divisor 1, or at best 2E until the last decade of the Succesion Wars?
So what is the exact nature of the problem here, and how (if at all) should the table be corrected?
