Nonsense! That's a Marian Hegemony "Tablifer". The project was initiated when some Terran scientists - definitely nothing to do with Word of Blake, thank you very much! - escaped from FWL territory under hot pursuit by Regulan forces. They promised the Caesar that they could top the Clan's quad-vee program, with a VAM - Vehicle/Air/Mech - design.

Unfortunately the Tablifier ended up more like a tracked Kangaroo. Oh, with rotors rather than jump-jets. It could lift itself off the ground (barely), and as long as it remained low (in ground effect) actually move at speeds approaching 30kmh/hr. On its tracks, it could make upwards of 80km/hr (on prepared roads, with no curves.) The cost of the 'conversion gear', and the paired autocannons and rocket launcher packs, meant armour was comparable to a Locust LCT-1M.

Crazy enough? I think you mean Crazy Awesome enough!

The answer of course, is Thomas Hogarth. After his success with the Condor Trans-Track, this is the next logical step.

The Star League would probably be bonkers enough to give that a shot.

The league did make that flying hovercraft tank.  Anything possible.

Thomas Hogarth has one or two too many wines at a state deal or a close friend designed the thing and suddenly it is in full production for the Lyrans...
This actually has a canon precedence with the stupid tracked/hover Condors.

Dammit, that man is a great character...

Moneyogre nailed it, but in 3150? That's the Hells Horses plan for being ilClan. And they'll grow some TankWarrior-Pilots to go with it too!

This is the first time I've heard of the Condor Trans-Track. Geez, for the sake of one throwaway line in an old novel... ::)

Well, while their at it. They could make new Rotunda variant of the Condor.  Condormobile maybe.  ;D

No Wrangler, the color scheme is right for the horses, but there's no way the horses would put a bird on their Rotunda. The Falcons would see it as an insult. ;)

BT Players, playing as a house, clan etc.

If one was to design this within the construction rules what would it be?

A tracked vehicle or a VTOL? (*Hopes someone who knows those arcane rituals will design one...*)

Just use both and give it the Illegal quirk... :D

30-ton VTOL, 3 tons tracks. That should really be all that's needed...

Making it a mech as well is more complicated... I suppose you could make a quad LAM and give it tracks.
