Now I can't help but wish the DA Malice (IIRC) had been done like that, instead of with the droopy thin barrels ...

Someone has pointed out that 4 HAG-20s would be better and would be lighter in weight and possibly allow me to mount other stuff. Which would be better? 4-Hags, 4-Gauss, or 2 of each?

HAG's are really just overweight LRM's, and I'm not a big fan of LRM's to begin with...

I vote 4 Gauss all the way.

Nice work btw... 8)

I imagine it would depend on you.  HAGs split their total damage into groups, while standard GRs are single hits.  I imagine a pair of each would both punch holes and then fill them with HAG rounds, but something like LRMs would be cheaper and allow for indirect fire.  As it is, Gausszilla needs to be in the open to be effective, and a single hill could offer a defense against his weapons until an opponent could close.

Started to design my own custom versions of the Unseens. I'll begin with the Warhammer and Archer. Did these in Paintchat on a study break.

Whether or not they riff strongly off the Unseen is irrelevant to me ... they both look very nice!

Warhammer needs lower arm actuators.  Other than that, I think you've captured them quite well.

I'm rather reluctant to add the upper arms to the Warhammer, as It might result in a design far too similar to the Macross Tomahawk Destroid. I rather not have HG barking up my back. :P

I definitely wouldn't worry about that.  There's another thread on this page where the person just straight up drew a Tomahawk.

As long as it is original art, i.e. YOU drew it and not traced it, you're fine.

Actually, these designs are made to be sold in case someone tried to commission me a custom version of the Unseen/Reseens or that I need to distribute these freely for fan usage. Different names would probably be needed as well.

Well if you want them to be used, I can't afford much, it took me 8 months saving to get my gencon tickets alone. Cash is usually straped for the majority of us gamers Eriance.

But on the other hand, if your freely giving away... I could use the designs for my AU Clan, if you'll allow it. I got stats, but no pics to show, they can be as is. Just asking is all, and that can't hurt much.  ;)

I could probably use both. The Stormbringer, which is a modified Warhammer seen below, is very similar (no lower arm actuators) to the Hammer you drew. The Archer would make an excellent Grenadier for my Clarion Call setting.

@True Tanker and Takiro: You two may use these when I finished them (gonna be a while, though - school :( ), as with anyone else that wishes to use within the context of Battletech (non-profit use). Sometimes someone will offer to buy the finished version of the art, so they might ask you to remove them later - although they're generally OK with others using the art.

Here are two new ones, the Crusader and the Wasp. Bother should bare enough of the same feel as the Unseen, without looking like them. Again, might need different names.

Crusader is very nice, though Wasp laser barrel is IMO too thin. But I'm more a fan of virtually Battle Armor-esq proportions for the bug 'Mech barrels,

Good Stuff!

The only thing I would change, put the LRMs over the shoulders in place of the SRMs.

If I have your permission to use any of what you'll deem as usable as a freeware pic, I will.

Otherwise I won't use without it.

So that means multiple permission slips!  #P

And now, is the " Crusader " and " Wasp " available as well?

All of these custom Unseens is understand my usual policy - as long as no one buys the final piece, you may use them freely as long as I'm credited. This goes for pretty much all my previous mech pieces as well (with a few exceptions being my "signature" mechs).  :D

EDIT: Two more - Rifleman and Phoenix Hawk (the PH came out a bit too Japanese, maybe, oh well, my favorite so far).

Fun fact: Shoji Kawamori did mecha design for both Armored Core and Macross.
