New Battlemech:Javali
« on: 18 March 2017, 22:42:39 »
New project, here's the initial test renders. Yes, I know the colors suck; I was going for a base primer. The next renders will ( try to ) show a proper paint job

Fire away with the comments!  O0 :)

I saw the name and a craving for coffee.

It almost likes it could float if the need arose.

Huh?  ???

Here's another render. Not satisfied with the hooves, so new ones. And other tweaks

There's a branc of coffee that goes by the name of Gevalia, hence the coffee joke.

Not a coffee drinker so the reference went completely overhead. It's cool  O0 :)

Big, ungainly, slow probably. Heavy armor, no obvious cockpit so torso-mounted cockpit maybe? Armed with a pair of head-mounted medium lasers and a triple turret-mounted PPCs (no other combination of equipment makes sense based on the render IMO).

I like.

Made stats for this. Though due to Spheroid DHS taking so much space, i had to do some odd, counter-intuitive choices.

I like making up stats for art... it is interesting due to limits imposed by said art.

interesting idea there Empyrus, slow but very tough; something to consider (although the turret would only weigh 2.5 tons, not 3)  O0

I'll post the stats I have in mind a bit later when I have time ( not now  #P ), but the idea is something a bit lighter.
I'm including a closeup: The cockpit's there, but it's low profile. maybe a small or armored cockpit?

The Turret is armored which adds half a ton.

Didn't notice the cockpit but yeah, armored cockpit looks like a safe bet.

Here's an update: I wasn't satisfied with the legs of the Javali; they just weren't thick enough. So I'm posting a thumbnail of the rework.

Comment away!  :)

Added some battlearmor just to give an idea of scale; superheavy mechs are very tall.

I'll be posting the stats later today if I get time from work  #P

I just realized it's a perfect match for this quad omni-zombie I did a while back. Thought I put a lot more guns in the opposite torso to the turret, it's plain difficult to get everything into the turret unless you only mount big energy weapons and streak SRMs!
