Seems perfectly vanilla and safe.  I would put the AMS in the head though so it can fire while carrying battle armor instead of the torso.

It was actually kind of intended to be a "vanilla" design, since it's primary function in this configuration is reconnaissance. No need to get overly ambitious or encourage a pilot to engage in combat.
