...holy crap, Paul, Intentions is amazing!
reminded me of the first three Dune books, constructing a religion around a figure and the pitfalls and potentials that it creates - the opening waves of Paul's Jihad had a higher headcount than the Battletech one, of course.Makes me wonder if the Pax Leto II is going to be equally similar in exploration of themes and deconstructing the IlClan like God Emperor did.

Hey if you're borrowing ideas for space epics, borrow big and borrow good!

It's good to see new products rolling out to help ease new players into Battletech.

If you don't mind me asking, why do you like it? I ask because people like so many different things about battletech, I like to read other viewpoints especially when it is two different viewpoints but both liking it.

As said; very pleased with the PDF of 2SW. I will be buying the dead tree from my FLGS as well. I kinda....sorta...already made my own Battlemech manual...sorry...

And TRO: SW I will be buying at least as a PDF as well.
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.

I'm looking forward to owning both this TRO and the Battlemech manual in both electronic and print formats.
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

Hope TRO:SW hits stores here at the same time as the BMM. Would be nice combo to buy at once.

EDIT The smiley has no point but i like it. It is just so random and stupid.

If I ever get into a position where I'm introducing new people to the game, that combo plus some plastic mech packs is basically going to be my first suggestion.

Oh absolutely.  We still need a new Intro Box for the game, something with the most basic of basic rules, a map sheet, some record sheets, some dice, and some cardstock counters.

I'll take what intro products we can get, though.  The BMM and the Succession Wars TRO sound like great books for introducing people to what has become a very rules-dense game.

Indeed. Though cardboard 'Mech counters might be an option. At least for expanding games at first cheaply. Should they make such.

I hope that $20 intro/starter box includes the cardboard cutouts as well as the 2 plastic minis as well as a paper map. Would make for the perfect first time box.

Any word on if the new box sets might make it into production/shipping by or before years end Adrian? Even a maybe will work as an answer :o

There are printout counters of the 24 introductory box mechs that can be downloaded off the main site.
