Before Alsadian Industries began making its own customized units such as the
Chevalier, it first got involved with Mech construction by creating variations of existing Mech designs to make use of its skill with advanced electronic systems. The most popular of these variations was the Stealth line, which incorporated cutting-edge concealment technologies to better protect units that routinely stayed behind the front lines in combat.
The Alsadian refit of the
Longbow was the first of these, requiring relatively little change to the original Succession War-era LGB-7Q model. Alsadian Industries did not wish to modify the engine and or skeleton of the Mech for their first upgrade, nor did they wish to make substantial changes to the armament. Instead, the weaponry has been lightly modified through advanced fire control systems for the LRM-20 launchers, improved ammunition handling for the LRM-5 systems to allow short-range missiles to be used as well, and incorporation of pulse technology in the laser systems. The centrepiece of the upgrade, however, was the addition of one of the first stealth armour systems to see use on Inner Sphere battlefields since the Star League, and the first to use the upgraded Angel ECM in place of the Guardian ECM system as the electronic support for the stealth system. The necessary space and weight savings were achieved through the incorporation of improved heat sinking technologies, to replace the extremely heavy first-generation technology used by the 7Q model. Unfortunately the additional heat needs of the new armour and weapon systems mean that even with a somewhat improved total dissipation rate, the Mech still runs hotter than its predecessor, and pilots will no longer be able to "alpha strike" as freely as they previously could.

Much like the
Longbow upgrade, the Alsadian upgrade to the
Archer was a fairly subtle affair on the surface. An outsourcing arrangement with Bowie Industries(who were concurrently developing the ARC-6S model) for their new 280 Light engine allowed for a small weight savings, and that weight was entirely devoted to new electronics systems - advanced fire control for the missile launchers, and another cutting-edge Angel ECM for integration with the stealth armour. The lasers were replaced with ER models, to better defend against the possibility of short-range engagements, and they were reconfigured slightly to make room for the ECM to be integrated with other electronics systems in the core of the Mech. This model retains the heat problems of the original
Archer, but many existing
Archer pilots were willing to continue dealing with those in exchange for improved protection, particularly among mercenary groups.

The stealth upgrade to the
Awesome was, much like the upgrade to the
Longbow, primarily made possible by the incredible weight of the original model's heat sinking systems. However, due to the equally incredible heat output of the three Kreuss PPC systems, Alsadian engineers did not feel that they could accommodate the additional heat load of the stealth armour system with any combination of traditional or advanced heat dissipation technologies. To reduce the heat load, they replaced the arm-mounted PPC with a Gauss rifle at the same time as they incorporated the same Angel ECM-equipped stealth armour system that had been successfully used by the
Longbow and
Archer. The
Awesome upgrade also began the Alsadian trend towards incorporating Command, Control, and Communications systems into their mech designs, as these "C3" networks had by this point become sufficiently common to allow for proper integration of suitably equipped Mechs by almost all military forces.
