I am another non-Catalyst employee butting my way in (mainly because I want to entice Savage Coyote to come pit his painted forces against mine!). I have chosen to rebuild my beloved 321st Division with my first Level III the Banshee's Wail. This will be a mega challenge, but I will try to stick within the rules as much as possible. However this Level III is around 1300 PV altogether, not including the infantry support.

Why Comstar? Because I like Batman. Comstar made the best of a crappy situation after Kerensky packed his bags and took most of the SLDF with him. Sure they were a bit underhanded and may or may not have indirectly or directly caused some of the most horrific events in human history, but they did it to save us eventually. When the Clans returned to reclaim the Star League, the Com Guards were all like, "hold it there, cowboy," then promptly crushed them in one fell swoop. They weren't the hero the Inner Sphere deserved, but the hero they needed.

Flash forward a bit, the 321st is one of the most elite divisions in the Comstar Armies. They stuck to that Batman mantra and did not sit idling by with the St. Ives Capellan War broke out. No, they stealthily provided supplies to the Compact and skirmished with the Capellans. They fought for freedom and justice... yadda yadda they were freaking Batman! Or Batmen?

I have decided to paint these guys up as they have just arrived on Beid after being pulled off Warlock for engaging in the Capellan-St. Ives War. Warlock, from what I can tell, is very cold world. While the standard white of the Com Guards would work, I will be doing some proper arctic camo for these guys.

Hey Bongfu,
Will you paint your force in ComStar-white or camo?
You certainly have your work cut out for you... :P
Cheers,
Ferrus

While I think the white is iconic and stunning, I want my boys and girls to be battle ready. So camo it is.

Besides, I already have a Ghost company painted up and that is enough white for me.

Yikes, I only have 400 points  ;D

I have an assualt star of three different Mad Cat Mk II variants, Omen, and Warhawk but, I think you'd still have by a long shot on point.  Still, be interesting to see how it goes.  What kind of camo?

I have always been partial to autumn colour schemes. I want to do something similar to this: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/cf/SS_Platanenmuster_Herbst.jpg

Basically a dark green with orange-red, and reddish brown.

Update #1:

All of my mech Level IIs are built and based.

Apologies in advance for crappy lighting and poor quality photos. Between a dark apartment (to beat the Texas sun!) and a craptastic phone camera I cannot give you the best photos. Maybe that will change down the line if I can find work again.

So here is the Command Level II:

Vindicator test shot:

Good news is the awesome folks at Aries Games & Miniatures shipped my Challengers! So they should be arriving to complete my armoured Level IIs soon. I will post a group shot then.

Good stuff.  Like the autumn style bases.  Wishful thinking in the Texas heat.  :)

Sooooo....

The bug struck me again. I decided I did not like the camo scheme after painting up my first level II (and almost another one). I did some more digging and found out these guys were stationed on an arctic world during the Capellan-St. Ives War. So I am going to paint these guys up to represent the unit as it has just come off the battlefield.

I also rearranged the level IIs a bit, removing most of the Clan Omnis. In their stead are some left overs from my Lyrans and Kuritans. I went a bit more economical on points as well.
