Another New CAV: Duelist in light desert camo
« on: 26 January 2011, 22:04:16 »
"Light" desert in the sense of being a very light sandy color, almost white in places.  I usually go for a darker desert camo, but was looking at pics of the central Sahara and was amazed at how white the sand looked.  Thought this would go nicely with it.

When in doubt, take it out.

As usual, outstanding! What colors did you use to get that tan?

That's awesome! the duelist is the only CAV mini i have and i think it's one of the coolest ones reaper has designed.

It's like a Rifleman with chicken legs. Looks less awkward and would probably be a more stable firing platform (if real physics were to come into play). Nice looking mech.

I too would be curious how you painted this. I've struggled with desert/khaki schemes in the past.

Excellent work on the tan. By the way it is nice to see your work featured on the Reaper site. This can only help sales :)

Those CAV minis are some of the more static Mech miniatures out there, but they really look like massive tanks on legs.

Agreed.  If they would have a more dynamic pose they would look a lot better.  Even it would be just a slight walking pose.
Maybe Orge should kitbash some before painting anymore.

An excellent piece of work.  And the yin-yang symbol is a nice touch.

Love-child of a Rifleman and a Marauder II.

Love the camo scheme. and the paint job is, as always, spectacular.
