Miniature of the Fortnight #14: Executioner/Gladiator
« on: 27 March 2017, 22:02:09 »
A favorite of the Ghost Bears, the Executioner (Gladiator) is another OmniMech from TRO 3050.  Like other OmniMechs of its time, it shares a parts (and general appearance) with another OmniMech, the Gargoyle (Man O' War).  To learn about how it performs in-game, check out its 'Mech of the Week article.

There have only been two sculpts of the Executioner (Gladiator):
  • The original sculpt released by Ral Partha in metal (20-606) and resin.
  • The modern sculpt released by Iron Wind Metals (20-393).

Please post any Executioners or Gladiators you'd like to share!  (Well, Clan Gladiators.  We'll do a set of articles focusing on the "recovered" TRO 3075 'Mechs later.)

Thank you for reading!  And thank you to those of you who will post!

Our next fortnight's 'Mech will be the Vindicator.

Here's the one and only Executioner I've painted. Back in 2006 (I believe) I put some drybrushing techniques and a few details together to paint up some Wolf's Dragoons Gamma Regiment units.  I'm hoping to resurrect this technique in the coming months or two to fill out another few units and in doing so make a video tutorial for the CSO channel.

I have an A and an E painted. My D is primed but finished and I don't actually own a Prime. I'm going to have to fix that.

With my preferences having been the Jags and Hellions, this hasn't featured much in my collection to date. But I recently did revisit an old lead Ral Partha sculpt for my Star Adder opfor star - E version ...

these are unofficial conversions, created when there were not yet official variants produced by the IWM.
