Here are some pictures I've taken of the new Marauder 7D/9D sculpt. It is really fantastic!

Very nice! A huge improvement over the previous Reseen sculpts.

These phoenix/HG Marauders just look plain wrong to me. I wait till I get the proper one.

You might have to wait a long time, until Harmony Gold gets their comeuppance.

I'm not a big fan of most of the PP mech designs either. Scorpion is one of the few ones, i think looks really good.

Thank you for the pictures! Although I'm a huge fan of the original Officer's Pod; I've grown to love the PP version over the years too. And, cannot wait to score a copy of this. Joel [Psycho] did a fantastic job matching Alex's cover art.

I like the beefier legs,  it fixed the main dislike i had for the PP Marauder.  I am building 1 to normal spec and will do my second closer to the Glaug look as per my latest trend with the PP Marauders.

Wait... its center of mass is actually above its feet...

how is it supposed to tip over backwards like a drunk chicken?

It's the best of the three, but I got to agree with other posters that the Project Phoenix Marauder is an epic fail.

In 4 years, HG loses licenses to Macross (good luck getting it renewed!). While I wouldn't want to see a return to the unseen, I'm perfectly happy with the retcon Marauder and am willing to wait.
I have spoken.

i actually like them. and the 5L looks a lot better if you put the lifted leg angled to the back so it is running, instead of half lifted in the front (probably meant to look like it is stepping forward, but it ends up looking a bit flamingo like)

As klarg1 mentioned the 'drunken chicken' syndrom. The -5L is extremly heavy on the backside with a tendency to fall over backwards. The foreward stretched leg is more of a counter weight (and i still needed to mount a metal base to lower the center of gravity - other minis of mine are based on plastic bases).
Another problem of the spindly 5L legs were its tendency to bent. I hope, this is a story of the past with the retconned Marauder.

So the legs are single pieces (with exception of the feet)?

I'd recommend removing the shoulders, and then pinning the arms underneath - I did that with a 5S/9R (second from left)
