[20-234] Marauder IIs unseenning
« on: 20 November 2011, 03:56:53 »
Suddenly I realized that all this time I glued the [20-234] Marauder II reseen incorrectly -  instead of gluing pelvis detail to the torso bottom, where small round pin is protruding, it better be mounted on the back panel, between torso boxes and bottom edge!

This will make too tall quasi-humanoid mini  into "proper" squat chicken-style unseenish look.

This is look from the back on working area:

Leg linking part shoud be glued over the grills (which You'd better to sand off or cut out by razor knife)
I'd tried to do it on my ancient, painted by Tamiya paints  mini (It's look soo bad now, that I have no mercy for it), and as I see, now it look better.  ;)

"House Davion, soon after its inception, established itself as a force for freedom in the Inner Sphere. Again, though, this is a relative term. House Davion does not support the Communist, hippie, let’s-all-take-care-of-each-other kind of freedom. No. They have always worked more along the lines of the we-will-occasionally-need-to-invade-your-nation-because-you-don’t-strike-us-as-freedom-loving-enough kind of freedom. To their credit, House Davion leaders occasionally mention the concept of “freedom” as a positive thing, which puts them a ways ahead of peer, say, House Liao and House Kurita" -Battlerun- Best Ever

Now take the arms; crop off most of the large PPC barrel, and mount the shoulders on the torso about where the heat sink grids are ...

Yeah, the lower stance is much more menacing.  I like how the jeweling was "upside down" on the older one too :D

I have four Marauder IIs in my collection, and they will all be stripped and redone to this standard.

looks amazing! I wonder if this would work on the 75-ton reseen MADs too
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.

That looks wonderful! Just add the wings and move the arms forward and it might capture the power and grace of the original...or just leave it as is and it will still rock.  O0 O0 :D 8) 8)

Yes. I'd think already about wings from Osprey.

Privyet!

Yes, they low angle makes it look more menacing indeed...more like the Unseen with out being the Unseen. This look makes it easy to understand why the early IS comps pegged it as a MAD-CAT (Marauder-Catapult).  I have a (20-264) Marauder MAD-9S/-5R to put together. I'll have to see if I can pull off something similar.
