So, I was perusing IWM's online store and noticed they only have Overlords and Unions available now. What happened to the Leopards and Broadswords?

AFAIK the DropShips are produces by a third party and shipped to IWM, so they only list them on the site when they have stock to hand.

The aerodynes are also the cleanest, nicest sculpts, which doesn't hurt.

I know a big issue with the dropships is the quality of them when they get them in. They have to check every single one and let the third party know if the mold is shot. Before GenCon last year, there were around 10 or so Union and Overlords that could not be sold due to bad casts.
Like they said before, they are instock when they have them available from the vendor.

Ah, okay. I also noticed they aren't selling buildings/structures anymore (with the HPG exception). Is that the same story?

There are two lines of building that were on the site at one time, the stackable ones which are OOP. The resin buildings that they get from Ral Partha Europe, which the stock varies a lot on them. Usually some are in stock during convention season, since we had some at Gen Con last year.

So..I thought everyone would like to know some info I just received.
I had in my most recent order put in for the Map Scale Overlord. I got an e-mail from
Mike Noe telling me that they are temporarily out of stock on the resin cast dropships
due to quality issues with the third party that makes the resin-cast dropships.

Crap. I only have the leopard, Overlord C and two of the crappy two-piece Unions. I need to get the Broadsword, Overlord and one-piece Union, as well as the Radar Array. Collector, you see. Despite the big problem I had cleaning up the Overlord C I did a few months ago, I find them to be excellent models, and well worth the price.

Jal, so would you recommend the Overlord C over the Union?

I haven't seen the one-piece Unions they're making now. I don't think they do them in the two-piece I have anymore. If it's against those, then the Overlord is vastly better. I had to do a lot of work with the saw and my green stuff to get the three parts to fit properly, but once together the effect is seamless. See here. (http://www.camospecs.com/Miniature.asp?ID=5551)

I got the Overlord C and a Union for Christmas (pretty sure it was the 1-piece Union), pretty hefty piece, but the mold was good, only a little clean up needed

I do not have the one-piece Union, but of all the other Dropships the Broadsword was the best sculpt. Nearly no clean up needed. The old Union and Overlord were the worst.

Thanks, yeah I see that the Union is the one-piece. I wonder how long it takes until they get more Leopards and Broadswords?

As of the newest website update, the Leopard and Broadsword are listed again.
However, in the Online Exclusives section, the Prowler tank has vanished. Is this still available? I've been holding off a rather large order for the past couple of months as I'm waiting for the Celestial Omnimech Dominus variants to be available.
Also...I got one of the single-piece Union Dropships at Origins last year. It was very good quality and needed very little clean up to the resin body to prepare for painting. My Overlord was a regular 3-piece and needed significantly more work to fit together and reshape. Still came out very awesome...just gotta find time to paint it.
