I like writers gave some personality to some of the regiments,  i like idea of the Second St. Ives Lancers having a Battalion named Cochrane’s Revenge.

I wish there was some word with Regulans about the Rolling Thunder and Green Monster Battlalion.  Has anyone spotted anything in the new about them?

Does the Field Manuel actually state that the Shadow Divisions are gone? Or does it just raises question on their continuing whereabouts?

Jihad: Final Reckoning has a rundown of the fates and last known locations of all Word of Blake Militia units, including Shadow Divisions. Nothing has been seen from them since then.

I don't have a copy of FM:U handy, but I don't remember the names of regimental commanders being this, I dunno, irregular. Just looking at the names for, say, the AFFS deployments, it really reminds me of the random names MegaMek gives people.  Anyone else get that feeling?

I like the way the RATs are set up in this. I think it makes more sense than there being five entirely distinct sets of gear for each house but instead, a gradient.

I wish they were able give the Republic more variants than the straight main line 'Mechs.  Having more what they did for the League states having their own unique designs if hitting certain roll.  I had half expected to see some of the Word of Blake  Protectorate militia 'Mech designs to be included in the lesser rolls, like Titan II which lacked alot of the WoB latest gadgets but stuff the Republic kept.

Remember that RATs are just a gameplay tool, and is restricted by the number of entries in the table. Espesially with a faction like the Republic of the Sphere which inherited equipment from most factions in the game.

I'm annoyed. Battlecorp hasn't shipped me mine yet.

This is because Battlecorps believes that the release date is April.  I have a couple emails from them stating such and I couldn't convince them of the March 21st date.  I found this more than a tad annoying since I was hoping to have the book to read while I was on vacation.

On a more positive note my copy finally shipped out today from Battlecorps.

I recieved my copy yesterday, in Finland.  I consider that a pretty swift turnaround, and i ought
to also comment on how well it was packaged.  Those damn packing thingies inside though, there
had to be a 5 minute period of trying to get them off the book and my fingers :D

This might well be one of my favourite background books thus far, i especially liked the fact that i did
not see any older art recycled.  All new art within, does make you feel you're reading something new.

The Davion in me was left very satisfied, i felt that section really captured the Fed Suns and how the Jihad
and FCCW had shaped it.  Oh and special praise for the Lyran section, i thought the writing of that was
both amusing and very much in character for the faction.

Up there with the FCCWHB in my humble opinion, quality work there.   Now hurry up with the historical stuff,
(which i don't care about) so i can see what happens next eh.

LOVE how they did the new RAT tables,   O0
Seriously great job there.

Also loved the maps in the middle,  well done,  I like these too.
