(Answered) IO - Enhanced Imaging questions
« on: 19 April 2017, 09:18:17 »
Enhanced Imaging, page 75 Interstellar Operations (PDF pg 77 it seems).

If playing with EI rules, is it intended for the benefits of the system apply to ProtoMechs and Clan Machina Domini fully, partially or not at all?

If partially, which parts are modified or dropped?
(For example, it looks like at least that internal structure damage potentially causing pilot damage should be ignored for ProtoMechs since they get automatic pilot damage from internal structure damage under standard rules.)

I ask because with EI rules in play, Machina Domini and ProtoMechs would automatically gain significant boost to performance if the rules are used as they are, unlike normal 'Mechs and Battle Armor that specifically need to be noted to have EI. And based on how Protos and Machina Domini require EI, it seems that perhaps they're not supposed to gain these benefits as well. Or are the rules merely intended to convey additional realism for these systems?

"is it intended for the benefits of the system apply to ProtoMechs"

No.

The bonuses and penalties for having EI do stack with those for having an Interface Cockpit, however.
