(Answered) Infantry Compartment Weight Clarification
« on: 26 December 2015, 21:01:05 »
I didn't see this specific question asked previously, though there was one on a similar topic posted last year.

In the Tech Manual Errata v3.02 (dated 09 January, 2014), page 10 has a revamped "Transport Bay Table".  The capacity for infantry compartments in that table is listed as "Weight x 1.0 (Infantry or Battle Armor)".  With regard to infantry, what exactly is the unit the "1.0" refers to?  Being that squads can vary significantly in size and mass, I'm hesitant to assume it's a squad.  If it is a squad, shouldn't there be separate entries for Jump and Mechanized troops at least?

The 1.0 multipler means that infantry formations (of whichever type) are carried at simply their own weight.  Infantry compartments lack any proper amenities and are effectively simple cargo space--mass reserved for troops.

Hence no differentiation for types of infantry is required.

Ah, so it sounds like 1.0 x trooper weight x number of troops.  Thanks!
