Dogs Of War: Raid On House Davion
« on: 10 May 2016, 10:07:09 »
“So as you really see, it’s actually quite a simple task. Make planet-fall, burn a few farms and flatten a few buildings...”

Most of Bludds jobs started out like this, simple on the surface, but always a bit more complex with some hidden risk. Here he was listening to some backwater noble prattle on and on about how some other backwater noble has wronged him, and now he wanted Bludd’s Dogs of War to pay them a visit.

It wasn’t just about the credits, but also the credits to buy off any additional trouble that might be stirred up from such a raid.

“That planet is controlled by House Davion, if we raid your 'friends' holdings, we also make an enemy of House Davion…”

Not that it mattered, as Bludd and his men already had the death sentence on a dozen or so Davion worlds, but a good merc always negotiates up…

Disembarking from the drop-ship as one of the company's Slayer fighters ran recon, images of the farm came into view as the Dogs of War lance paused just on the outskirts of it.

A lone figure here and there running as fast as they could away from the fields, buildings quickly emptying out...

"Reading a dozen or so people, minimal heat signatures, no fusion signatures..." commed Sylex from his Commando.

"Burn it all, no survivors..." replied Bludd from his Battlemaster as the lance moved into the farm.

"Incoming contacts, ground and air support..." updated Sylex as a ring of red blips popped up on the hud.

"Incoming air!" commed the Slayer as it made a strafing run across the incoming skimmer craft blasting them with its autocannon and laser banks.

"Keep advancing, maintain fire discipline!" ordered Bludd as one of the heavy fighters strafed his mechs hitting Black's Orion in the back, almost taking off its shoulder and arm before being downed by a salvo or return long range missile fire.

"I see them, incoming heavy armor, disperse in the buildings and return fire." ordered Bludd as the first salvo of long range missiles exploded around them.

As the fire-fight intensified and some additional attack craft appeared on the flank, Bludd ordered his lance to break cover and engage at point blank range.

In a few moments of intense fury Bludd's Battlemaster took the brunt of the enemy tank's attack soaking up multiple PPC and AC/20 hits, as laser infantry swarmed Sylex's Commando toppling the mech over and bringing it down. With infantry pouring into the Commando's cockpit Sylex's comm quickly went to static.

To his right Daniken's Hunchback was trading point blank autocannon shots with a tank as fast as both machines could auto-load their rounds as the Hunchback's right arm was blown off before the tank was hollowed out.

"DIE Davion trash!"

Having broken the counter-attack the remaining infantry and air support quickly moved to exit the battle.

"Have the salvage teams pick up what's left of Sylex's mech and grab Daniken's arm and let's finish this so we can collect those credits..."

Add one more planetary death sentence to the Dogs of War...

BOO Blood and his Band of Scum.

Glad they suffered for their efforts.
These particular Davions appear to be suffering this week.

Nice pics.

Edit: Oh wait you're just telling it from the other "EVIL!" side.

Nice.

Your day will come, Bludd.  You and your pack of dogs.
