Zombie - C-ARC-X
« on: 11 October 2017, 04:52:25 »
Designed to be almost indestructible the Zombie lives up to its name. Utilising technology from the Word of Blake, the Zombie, is based off the Celestial Archangel Omnimech.

In this case, it utilises clan spec weapons, electronics and heat sink technology as well as clan spec ferro fibrous armour.

TSM is also employed to make the mech nasty in close combat.

3 Jump jets also let it maneuver in difficult terrain.

When first encountered by clan forces, it held up an entire star of assault class mechs, ripping each apart in turn, even when they tried to take it down together, it just activated its TSM and punched and kicked its way out of combat.

Its slightly under armoured for a mech of its size, however, it also appears that this mech has the infamous chameleon light polarisation system and null signature system. Making it effectively invisible unless some one is very close to it.

Packing a reinforced chassis makes it especially tough to kill. The only real weakness of this mech is the fact the pilots basically need to have installed buffered VDNI into themselves, so they can operate the interface cockpit. And since we have only seen one of these mechs we can only assume there is one ghost knight out there with this technology.

Its a scary, scary mech, and one that looks similar to its origin mech, the Archangel, which was also very hard to kill.

Well, I can't find much flaw with it as a defensive mech.  It really would take a whole lot of concentrated firepower to bring it down, and it would be fighting back pretty much the whole time.  However, the tactical importance of a zombie mech that throws away damage dealing and speed to focus on durability is really a bit overstated outside of certain niche situations.  For the amount of BV this soaks up from the rest of whatever team it's on, most forces will outright ignore the Zombie until it's all alone and can be focused on completely.
All that is born dies,
All that is planned fails,
All that is built crumbles,
But memories continue on,
And that is beautiful.

Some valid points for sure. In fact, I designed it with regard so that it would be too annoying to really ignore, and you'd have to get up close to it. And the added bonus is that the nullsig and clps assist it getting up to temp for its TSM, (which is why I left the arms unencumbered) so it could punch its way out of a problem if it had to. Infernos are this things worst nightmare, but you have to hit it first (and get in range to hit it).

In the table top I'd have this flanked with low bv brawlers and an LRM boat generally.
