Great looking stuff.  I love the do-dads stuck to the top of the buildings.  Might have to steal that one.

The billboards are great . . . I have a ton of balsa wood just sitting around, how do you handle them for LOS?  I mean you 'destroyable' smoke?

I use this Chinese ebay seller, has positive reviews and I got all my stuff within a week or so...his name is kinda funny, but like I said he delivered the correct product and I will be buying more. Just do a search for z scale, I used several trees of various sizes, but all z scale.

Hmm.... maybe some of your ideas would be good for my simple Tabletop Simulator Hex-thingy ...

Hey Gigobyte,

Im,using GCM hexes as well for a tabletop board. What is the process your using for flocking them? Ive been painting a layer of pva on the hex, flocking, waiting 24 hours, then brushing pva over the entire hex. Do you have a better way?

First: if it is for a rural piece then I spackle it up little to give it ground texture.

Then I pre-flock (gravel/sand): It is just sprinkled on after simple white pva glue is brushed on where I want it.

Then paint, dry brush... Then I brush simple pva glue and then sprinkle the grass onto it and let dry for an hour to a day.

I hope that answered your question.

All of it is impressive but I am loving your city buildings board!  I want to play at your table!  Oh, and the Nuka Cola billboard - tops!

Here are some things that I have been working on...slowly but still working.

The first is some city décor. Two statues, two fountains, and four parking lots. They still need paint but that will be later.

This one is just the big parking lot shown taken apart, I connected the top with magnets so I can expand later.

If only I had time, money, patience, skill, opposable thumbs..... This thread is a great spur to my imagination! (one of the few things I do have  :D)

Just started getting proper terrain (felt hex map and hills at moment), so I'm now watching the this part of the forum with interest.

Newest addition to the table...City roads, with sidewalks.

The roads are quite easy, I use 1/8th MDF 2" Hexes bought from Gamecraft. I take 1in electrical tape to mark out the pattern and then draw off the edges of the tape with a pencil. I then remove the tape and dremmel a small grove where the pencil marks are. From there paint black and dry brush grey. The edges of the rural roads are created with putty and then painted brown and then drybrushed lighter browns...then flocked. The city roads' edges are just painted the same to represent concrete.
Your roads are excellent !

I have a pretty decent Geo-hex style set up that looks good but I'm
stuck on my roads .  I think you accidentally gave me an idea .

Now where did  I put all those styrene sheets with the tiny squares on them ...

What do you do for the mountain bases, they don't seem to be based upon any of the Gamecraft hex bases

Nothing as of yet.

I will be purchasing GC hexes to hot glue to the bottom of these completed mountains and then I will have to match paint techniques I used.
It seems like more work (and it will be), but I didn't think about it at the time of creation. So now I have to go back and rework them.

But as far as what they are actually made out of, it is pink foam installation from Home depot, cut with a hot wire foam cutter.

I hope that answered your question.

Sorry for the long delay in posts, I got a new job and hadn't had a lot of time recently.
Here are some water towers...

And an orbital laser tower that I am working on, complete with magnet to turn. Although it doesn't look like the primer is sticking to the plastic, it is flaking off.

Remember when most of my city buildings were pink? (if not scroll up to see and to remind you) Well anyway, they aren't any more...

Big update coming in.

Last but not least; my Factory or Warehouse. I actually really like this piece and hope you do to.

I still have the huge center-piece building left if you have seen the city layout pictures you will know what I am referring to...but I want to work out the paint chipping and flaking. I use Army Painter Primer so it isn't like I am using a crappy primer.

Wow, that is a huge amount of work. I like the billboard on the one building. What is the 3 hex building with the skulls on the front?
Why not Zoidberg?

Did you make that gun & mount or convert a existing piece?

Have you thought about putting some green vegetation bits on some of those building's balconies?

Overall, awesome . . . I started saving small product logos from things to make my own billboards thanks to your idea.

Thanks.

I totally made that gun and mount. All from caps, doohickeys, and plastacard sheets and tubes.

I have thought about it, but at 6mm the vegetation would look out of place and large.
