Davion Brigade of Guards Stripes

The old Guards, the ones that were mostly blue with the thin stripes of white and red.  How would you paint those stripes?

I'd outline them first lightly with colored pencil.  White can go down double wide, followed by red on top of half (keeps it brighter).  Then blue touch-up where needed.

Freehand, using a very opaque off-white and dark red. Thinned paint so it flows easily off the brush, but not too thin so it doesn't flood the miniature. A size 1 brush with a good tip that holds the shape well. After painting the initial stripe, come back with lighter colors for the highlights. Clean up with blue.

If freehanding the stripes proves to be too fiddly or too much of a chore, I'd try masking tape.

Thanks guys.

Outlining the stripes is a really good idea that I'll have to try because I think this paint scheme is well above my skillcap without some kind of guide to work from.
