And now for the Lightray, the double request I was going to do before it got sidetracked by a triple request. So yeah.

It's funny looking.

But so endearing with it. :-)

Thank you for doing those DB, as a long term lurker who runs a couple of salvaged Lightray's in my personal unit it'll be nice to have those prettied up Icons for them.

Today's Icon, the Lancelot, was actually an internal request that was lurking since forever, but then got bumped up by becoming a double. So yay. It was a pain to draw, but once the base was done, the variants came stupidly easily, as you will see.

Today's request is allready behind the times on variants, though I won't be completing it until we get the 3150 Record Sheets. In the meantime, here's the up-until-recently complete run of Tempest icons. This one was a request, but boy was it needed.

So when the Re-Unseen come out does this mean new icons for the Unseen, thus driving poor Deadborder crazier, or we gonna leave the old school icons as is?

[Why yes I'm pre-requesting the old Unseen as a mega request, and also still waiting on the DIMP VTOL Gunship variant.]

The old unseen (ie the not to be seen mechs) are already in MM.  As for the new look for "Classics" I'm sure DB will do them when he has proper art work and mini's to work off.

The first I knew of the "Classics" redesigned Warhammer was when I first logged in this morning and got a PM with an icon request for it. Since then, I've had a couple more. Seriously, guys. You're driving me insane. And yet, I can't say no.

At this point, the Wammer is the only one of these designs that we have enough pictures of for me to do an icon. I suspect that will change soon.

So the "Classic" redesign is about bringing back the Unseen designs without getting Harmony Gold on our backs?

Post-Jihad, the Toyama would have probably been extinct even without the destruction of the WOBM and the nuking of Gibson. It's name would be kinda unpopular...

With that being said, it was a snap to draw and had few variants. More requests need to be like this.

The Gunslinger is amazing, in that while it has very few illustrations, none of them look like each other beyond the vaguest similarities. This also extends to the mini, which makes it even harder to draw. Making it harder still is trying to draw an icon that doesn't look like an armoured teddy bear. Now that I've said it, you can't unsee it.

On the other hand, one icon covers every variant. That's so rare and yet so very enjoyable.

Ever notice that I get a lot of requests for 100 ton 'Mechs?

Today's icon was a bit of a struggle to draw, as I needed to make massive revisions to it at the last minute. You'd think that the arm with the thick, double-barreled weapon pod would be the one with the Gauss Rifle in it, while the one with the understated underslung weapon would be the Medium Laser, right? Wrong!

So after a lot of blood, sweat and tears, here's the Thunder Hawk.

Another hundred-tonner? How many do I have left to do? (Don't answer that)

Today's hundred thousand kilos of pain is the Scylla, an esoteric 'Mech with esoteric looks that was an utter pain to draw. But at the same time, one look at the old icon will show how much it was needed and also give you some idea of how badly my eyes bled doing this one.

Also, it means that I'm vaguely ready for if we ever get the Storm Giant...

Just because I cleared a request list doesn't mean I get to rest. I still have a lot of internal requests plus my own personal annoyances to deal with.

From one of these lists (I'll let you guess which) comes the Raven, which has a surprisingly high number of variants plus not one but two advanced variants. Those need their own icon too, which I'd actually drawn a long time back. So then I had to do a new run of Raven icons to bring it up to standard... and then revise the Raven II icon for consistency. This is my life.

I am genuinely surprised that nobody has requested the Wolfhound. This is for two reasons; the first is that it's a popular 'Mech. The second is that its current icons are a complete mess with at least three different sets drawn by at least three different people. Consistency, people!

Drawing the Wolfhound wasn't difficult because of the number of variants, but because of the number of times I had to redraw it's head.

Yeah, I'm actually kinda surprised I never requested it, if nothing else. Looks great, of course.

And now for a double request one that was a long time coming. I'd been sitting on this one as a mod request for some time, but then it got bumped up to Double. And in truth, I kind of enjoyed it.

I want to say a big thanks to one of my friends who's not on the board (that I know of...) who has lent me a lot of Minis along the way. Given that they've included a lot of awkward, weird, complicated or just plain strange 'Mechs - specifically TRO3055 ones - they've helped me immensely. Today's icon, the Komodo, is a perfect example.

Here's another one from the "Thank god I have the Mini to hand" collection (Which also overlaps a lot with the "Weird looking DCMS 'Mechs" collection, funny that), in the form of the Hitman. It's head was probably the hardest thing to draw, which should surprise nobody.
