Wow, picked up some books to round out my collection; did not expect to see that many used minis for sale. Also, did not know that this was once Monkeyhead Games. Interesting.
Sorry I missed you; When did you get there?

After the last wargame the idea of a ready five unit was floated, time to put that to work.

Each player gets to pick three (3) units from the force they run. Each player gets one (1) Mech, one (1) combat vehicle and one (1) Infantry unit for the main battle force. Each player will also pick any one (1) unit to be on ready five standby. This standby unit will deploy only if needed.

The battle space will have an urban area with civilians and buildings to protect. The battle space will be 4' x 8' with hills, woods, a river and said urban area. Your objective is to drive off the OpFor. If that can not be done then not letting the factory fall in to their hands and getting the civilians out of harms way is your job.

OK people pick your forces and get ready to move out.

ok this sounds interesting and i am looking forward to playing. my radiation treatment is over and i am going to pt for my arm so hopefully some of my issues will resolve soon.

ok i am thinking of the following
my archer for my mech
to protect the civilians my maxim with 2 platoons of rifle
and my striker tank

my ready 5 will be my great wyrm

what do you all think? and what are you all gonna bring ?

Glad to see that your tech repaired your reactor shielding. :))
Your selection is fine to me.  I think the Great Wyrm has enough speed for the "ready 5".
I'm going to designate my Hussar as my "ready 5" mech.  I needed a unit that could get into the fight quickly.
Since you have the Archer, I think I'll go with my Griffin.  My armor will also be a Maxim with foot infantry.  I'm giving my Saladin another try because I didn't use it effectively last time.

Hi again,

Change of schedule, Brianna and I should be able to be there from around 2-2:15 to 6.  Don't know what I should be preparing to do, just let me know.

Thanks all, and looking forward to seeing you again-

questions about the game

what type of factory do we need to defend?

is there any hazard material in said factory?

are the civians that need to be protected/evaced near the factory or is the common residences that need to be cleared?

do any of the building connect via underground tunnels?

Hi-

Since it's another wargame, response force is:

Panther
Bandit-A
Maxim hover with Rifle infantry

Rapid 5 for wargame purposes is Talon Sgt Hasagawa in the Wolfhound.

Thanks-
John

Sooo... will be late cause I have to show face at the monseignor's retirement reception.  Figure I should arrive some time around 2:30 or so unless mother gets chatty, in which case later.

Forces will be Owens that has been fully repaired, less well trained Galleon and the Longinus in the Maxim BA. ready 5 will be the Hunter

HPG Communication sent from Nejiro to Wei

From: Colonel Euron Greyjoy, The Ironborn

To: Capt. Tristan Botley, 3rd Free Worlds Guards (retired)

Greetings, comrade.  I'm pleased to report that your son Lorren is well and has been performing with distinction as our unit's XO.  This aside, the main reason I'm calling with a special request for our unit.  I've become interested in acquiring a GRF-5M Griffin 'Mech for the Ironborn.  I know this design is not built at Free Worlds Defense Industries but I've heard the situation on Gibson has changed with many military assets being transferred there.  If it's possible, could your contacts at FWDI keep me appraised if they are acquiring any 5M Griffins.  If one were to become available, I am willing to buy one without the Light Gauss rifle attached because, as luck would have it, I've recently acquired one from an arms dealer who didn't know what he had.  In addition, the Ironborn are setting up a gauss ammunition factory in Hilo City on Nejiro, so making shells for it won't be a problem either.  If you could possibly help net me one of these 'Mechs, I could equip your second son Tristifer with his own machine and increase our forces here on Nejiro if he's willing to make the trip out here.  Please respond when you can once you've found out what's going on.  Also, if you have any message for Lorren, I will forward it to him once I receive it.  Many thanks, sir.

Sincerely,

Euron Greyjoy
