As per rules for the Hardened Armor (p. 281, TO), a check for penetrating crits has a -2 modifier. Re-engineered lasers (p. 89, IO) ignore the property of the Hardened Armor to absorb two points of damage per a point of armor. But it is not not stated explicitly that the modifier for the penetrating critical hits should be ignored, and thus it should be retained. Am I correct?

RE Lasers do ignore the crit penalty applied by hardened armour.
