Unfortunately, as much as I loved the visual style of Urahara, the script really bored me & I wound up dropping it after episode 3. It wasn't so much a bad show as the characters weren't really resonating with me. If you're implying what I think you're implying, I'm not sure how I'd feel, since I don't have any real attachment to the cast.

Ebifry and someone else are playing Kyubey is what i'm implying. Sorta. It's still in line with its particular style so far though.

In the "Well this is interesting" Department...

Viz has the US rights to Mazinger Z: Infinity film. There are plans for US theatrical showings, just no secure dates yet.
This could be a interesting one to see on the big screen.

I'm just shocked that he was too dumb to dispose of that shit two years ago when they finally made possession illegal......

I'm shocked that it was only made illegal in Japan in 2015.

Japan's judicial system leans heavily in favor of prosecutors, which leads to a wariness regarding legislation that might be over-broadly interpreted. There was extreme concern in many quarters that a ban on child pornography would result in the criminalisation of family photos, a notion which most here would find fairly absurd, but which makes greater sense in the context of the very black & white way Japanese judges rule in legal cases.

The government stomped out most of the skeevy junior gravure industry back in the 90s, but a lot of that material was still floating around in private hands but is now illegal to possess. I highly suspect that's what Watsuki got busted for having.

Well...
From the way it was described in the ANN article, it sounds like he was nailed in possession of material purchased after the new law went into effect.

It said it was discovered in conjuction with another investigation, but he was charged with possession, not purchasing or selling. When the article described underage nudity rather than abuse, I got the impression it had to be old junior gravure crap.

And keep in mind that production and trafficking has been illegal for much longer.

Actually not really absurd. Awhile back there was a push in these parts to make the child porn laws a lot tougher which left open parents etc risking imprisonment for having nude baby photos. Ideas along those lines do happen but usually the more level headed folks prevail.

As someone that loves the Spice & Wolf Anime; Since I do not see any more of the anime coming anytime soon, I want to get more of the story. To those who are knowledgable which is the better source/continuation of the story, the Manga, or the Novel Series?

I prefer the Light Novel as the art in the manga makes them seem too young to me.

Out of the "WTF are they thinking?" Department...

There's gonna be a Live Action film adaptation of School-Live! is being planned.
Of all the Mangas out there to do live action, why this? Especially when a second series of the Anime would be preferable.

At least the Manga is starting back up soon. So that's a good thing.

:::Looks to my post up thread:::

Yep. And Yamato 2199's dub is decent enough. I think the next two weeks (eps 3 & 4) are gonna be the make it/break it for the dub.
And to be clear, FUNi has the Dub, Crunchy has the Sub.

The dub for Ancient Magus' Bride is also quite good. My wife fell in love with the mage smith right away. I do hope she comes back in the anime, but the pacing isn't right for a 13-episode series for her to do so.

UQ Holders is now up to episode 8.  Episode is 2nd part of 7, where they introduce Kirie. The two episodes are pretty action packed, but there couple holes in the plot that didn't fit well. With no spoiler tags here, i won't mention them.

Now were getting closer to where series going branch off to do it's own thing since it's nearly caught up with manga.

The Ancient Magus' Bride is a straight 2-cour run.
I hope the pacing will take it to about Ch 27 or so of the Manga.

Best news I've had since finding out... well, I don't know that I've had any real good news lately. Just okay news.

Has anyone seen any Konohana Kitan? It looks cute, but my bandwidth is depressingly limited and I'd like to see if anyone here enjoyed it.

From what I've read Darling in the Franxx actually is a Five Star Stories event, namely following the Majestic Stand - a big event that sadly lies outside the released manga in the US.

There was an announcement on a Japanese site a while back, I can't find it now but I threw it at MadCap at the time about what sure as hell LOOKED like it was supposed to be a new FSS story.  Since Nagano's back to doing the manga I guess it's not impossible.

I suppose there's not a chance in hell of getting a rando geeber tank regiment mentioned somewhere as flying a stylized scarlet Lorraine Cross called the First Expeditionary Mechanized Corps is there?  If not I'm totes stealing it.

That would be a radical departure from 5StarStories's theme.  I was under the impression from the untranslated videos i saw, it was like Dune like settings, with giant monolithic robotic war machines dueling it out leading armies to conquer opponents worlds.  Fraxx gave vibe of a hybrid comedy/less serious setting (not so distant future) with a girl that transforms from mecha to girl and wants the lead to be her pilot.

Sadly, you read wrong, my friend. Nagano has continued FSS, but it's "new" anime link is Gothicmade, not Darling in the Franxx - Nagano is such a neurotic perfectionist, I can't imagine he'd ever allow A-1 & Trigger to touch FSS! As it is, he has refused to authorize a Blu-Ray release of Gothicmade because he claims its terrible despite spending several years animating most of it himself.

Darling in the Franxx is about a war with alien creatures. The creators seem somewhat inspired by Nagano, in that the pilots are paired and the mecha have something of a feminine gothic appearance, but there's no Headliner or Fatima equivalents nor is it set in the Joker Galaxy.

Okay. So, as usual, I'm playing catch-up, this time via Netflix.

I'm really enjoying One Punch Man

Little Witch Academia is engaging, and very much reminds me of My Otome.

After a lot of different giant robot shows, Kuromokuro was predictable, but enjoyable because of the different way they handled the characters.

And, Naruto is actually entertaining, even though they only have 156 of the over 250odd episodes.

Not an anime, but I found an Australian cartoon that reminds me of Archer, but a little bit more intelligence behind the characters and in Space!  Prisoner Zero.

And, we can't forget some of the classics. A lot of 80s cartoons were animated in Japan. I always liked The 'Real' Ghostbusters.

If you can get your hands on it try AD Police Files, the aborted OVA series that originally did the story concept - with a somewhat more mature script.
