Principles of Electric Flight
« on: 16 August 2017, 22:41:32 »
Ever since I got the Leviathans Gazetteer For New Airmen, I have mused on making a battletech related version of this technology. Just think, a 100,000 ton flying structure not needing a fusion drive and can stay aloft as long as it has a power supply, using the electrical fluid-eletroid, or even a mutated version of har-gel  as the medium.

Post your ideas and how you would make it work, even fluff that fits into the battletech universe.

Alright, let me start off with the physical construction of the idea I have:

Combat Vehicle Construction Rules version:
Maximum Tonnage - IS 75 kt and Clan 100 kt
Internal Structure - 10% as per TechManual rules
Suspension Factor - (?)
Structural Integrity - as per airship rule in TO
Engine - all engine types
Lift Equipment - 10 %
Control System / Crew - as per support vehicle displacement hull or mobile structure
Engine/Heat Sinks - as per engine type
Armor - as per support vehicle displacement hull or mobile structure
Weapons / Equipment - additional arcs (dorsal & ventral along with the standard arcs, thinking of displacement hulls on this one)

As always, if you think of something better, post it please.

For the rules for playing this, I will admit, I always for creating the construction rules easier that the unit rules for damage and such, so help a brother out and feel free on posting them and let me know if the rough rules above are workable or not.
