Lest we forget
« on: 11 November 2017, 13:00:02 »
99 years ago, we saw the end of the great war.

Let's remember all those who gave their lives there and in the following conflicts around the world since then. Maybe we'll learn and not repeat the same mistakes.  :-[

*salute*  Rest in peace, brave souls. And stay safe, our protectors of today and tomorrow.

A poppy, a french bleuet (the poopy's equivalent) around my great-grand father's WW1 remembrance medal.
A small tribute to remember.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Lest we forget.
Incoming fire has the right of way.

The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.

Always remember that your weapon was built by the lowest bidder.

A nation which forgets it's defenders, will itself be forgotten.
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.

Never forgot the sacrifice of all that went forward towards the fire.
