(ooc: More from the Empire of Seven Swords)

The T4 Warthog
Having a large population base with access to only limited technology has made the Empire of the Seven Swords
rely heavily on massed firepower of infantry and artillery.  It's enemies, particularly the Republic of Oceania, have
given Imperial strategists much to think about with tanks like the Argent main battle tank.  As a response, the Empire
stepped up research on tanks, with approved prototypes being part of the designated T-line of tanks, such as the
T3 Phalanx, and its successor, the T4 Warthog.
Weighing in at 40 metric tons, the Warthog is designed to be easy to maintain, build, and operate.  A top speed of
32 kph is not fast, but will get the tank to where it needs to be.  The internal combustion engine is rugged enough, and
can be adapted readily to alcohol fuel with minimum garage time.  Internal fuel tanks give the Warthog an operational
range of 800 km.  Five tons of primitive armor, while inadequate by some standards, is able to stand up to a decent
amount of punishment.
Armament consists of a single turret-mounted heavy rifled cannon supplied by a sparse three tons of ammunition,
along with turret- and hull-mounted machine guns to ward off enemy infantry.  Crew consists of a driver, radio-operator,
tank commander, and a gunnery sergeant and six gunners manning the weapons.  The Warthog is cheap and simple
enough that a single factory can build one every two and a half days, with an estimated total of 17,000 built by the
time of this publication. (Editor's Note: What records exist suggest that nearly 22,000 of the Warthog and its variants
were produced until production was cancelled.)

Known Variants:
T4A1 Jumbo Warthog
With an armored chassis and a slower top speed of 22 kph, the Jumbo Warthog was only briefly produced.  All
27 built had six  tons of BAR 6 armor, and dropped the hull-mounted machine gun.

Battle Value: 215
Cost: 266,000
Crew: 9

T4A2 Hedgehog
An attempt to give the Warthog more speed, the Hedgehog carried only three and a half tons of weaker (BAR 4)
armor.  It was armed solely with a medium rifle, with a top speed of 54 kph.

Battle Value: 178
Cost: 248,850
Crew: 6

T4A3 Calliope
Built as an ersatz fire support tank, the Calliope mounted a medium rifle and two primitive 15-tube rocket launchers
in the turret, replacing the heavy rifle and turret machine gun.

Battle Value: 221
Cost: 306,915
Crew: 10

T4D1 Wild Boar Tank Destroyer
Removed the turret and mounted the heavy rifle in the front hull, armor was redistributed to beef up protection
on the front and sides.  The Wild Boar often set up ambush spots for enemy tanks.  Only the hull-mounted
machine gun was retained.

Battle Value: 224
Cost: 236,215
Crew: 9

T4M1 Bishop Self-Propelled Mortar
The Bishop removed the turret and associated weapons in exchange for a four-tube Mortar (Editor's Note: This
is more often recognized as a 'Mech Mortar/4) for fire support on the battlefield.

Battle Value: 171
Cost: 155,015
Crew: 9

T4R1 Tank Recovery Vehicle
Retaining only the hull-mounted machine gun, the turret ring has been replaced by four lift hoists for removing
damaged tanks from the battlefield for repairs.

Battle Value: 141
Cost: 390,215
Crew: 3

The AG1 Argent Main Battle Tank

[EDITOR'S NOTE: What few records I could find on the Argent were heavily degraded by
age and lack of maintenance, so what little I found is merely the design specs and a small
amount of description.  Hopefully in the future, I will be able to recover more data on this
ancient tank.]

---sporting a top speed of 64 kph, the Argent is meant to match speeds with the lighter
tanks of the Southern Alliance.  To maintain this speed, a fuel cell was chosen over an
internal combustion engine as being lighter, if a bit more costly.  Armor consists o- [data

Armament consists of a Medium Rifle that, while not as powerful as the larger caliber
Heavy Rifle, can still do damage both on armor and penetrating internals of the tanks of
the Seven Swords' armor units.  A six-tube short range missile rack augments the Rifle
with the ability to damage and disable the motive systems of enemy vehicles.  Both
weapons carry enough ammo to endure a pitched battle for over four minutes.  Two
machine guns, one in the turret and one front-mounted are meant to discourage enemy
infantry.  Space was allocated to allow the Argent to carry one squad of infantry-- [data

sights.  By the time of this publication, around 2000 Argents were in active service.

The A17 Gun Motor Carriage
Easily the largest tracked vehicle employed by the Empire of The Seven Swords, the A17 Gun
Motor Carriage is purely intended as a support vehicle.  (Note: Artillery crews considered themselves
to be part of the frontline troops, so the odd tradition of mounting a fixed bayonet to the barrel
of the artillery piece is common.)  Weighing in at 170 metric tons, the A17 is tasked with carrying
a single Sniper Artillery Piece in a high-angle mounting.  Ten tons of ammunition in a cavernous
ammo bay allow the A17 to sustain fire for over 16 minutes.  A top speed of 22 kph allows the
vehicle to crawl along behind infantry advances, but can lag behind faster armor battalions.  The
A17 is protected by ten tons of welded steel plates, enough to shrug off rocket barrages and light
firepower but not anything heavier.

A little house rule that makes my head hurt less when dealing with combat vehicles built as support vehicles is to use the combat vehicle crew requirements *Anyways*

The A17 Gun Motor Carriage

Why not 200 tons and a Long Tom?

Well, unless they errata'd it and I didn't notice, the Long Tom Artillery Piece weighs 30 tons, and takes up 30 slots, requiring a 250-ton support vehicle to haul it around.  That isn't including any space for ammo.

Only on Combat Vehicles, not Support Vehicles.
